An excellent polish that can be used on the face and body. A magic combination of effective but gentle cleansing that leaves the skin fresh and soft at the same time.

  2. Kay

Feels great on my skin. The smell is good as well
It came with some sample moisturizing cream

I have been using St. Ives apricot scrub to wash my face daily since high school (I’m 33 now), and have never desired to switch. However, I love the Yu-Be cream so I decided to give this wash a try after reading a review comparing it to a grown up version of St. Ives. So far, I really enjoy using it. It doesn’t “foam” as much as I was expecting it to, and the exfoliating granules are very fine. Might be good for someone who suffers from acne or sensitive skin that cannot tolerate daily scrubbing. My skin does feel tighter after using, but I’m not completely decided on if that’s a good thing. After moisturizing, my skin feels just the same as it does after using my St. Ives. All in all, I like the product, but at almost $10 more than the apricot scrub, I just can’t justify the switch.

Well, so confess, I too was a lifetime (45 years!!!) Pernox user. Still miss it and if it came back on the market, I’d buy a car load (I think it was the sulfur in it that killed bacteria that made it so effect on my oily, breakout prone skin). HOWEVER, that being said, I have found this scrub particularly effective for another skin issue – keratosis pilaris, those little bumps you get on the back of your arms, outside of thighs, and other unmentional places. Mine had gotten to bad I had a prescription for antibiotics from my dermatologist. Not wanting to be on them for the rest of my life, I started researching how to be proactive with prevention. So, here comes the Yu-Be, which I keep in the shower and use on my problem areas at least every other day (now that I am in maintenance), I follow this up with Amlactin moisturizing lotion with Alpha-Hydroxy to hydrate and exfoliate (beware – no prolonged sun exposure with this product, so I may be stopping it for the summer months). Have been using this program all winter and my problem skin is better than it has ever been coming out of the cold months. Note on usage – put about a quarter-sized amount in your palm, DO NOT dilute with water, but apply it directly to already wet skin. This provides the optimum grit for opening up the pores. (And do read up on keratosis pilaris – almost all of us will have it at some point in time and the web info is informative).

I’ve used this before- great product. Although the price remanded the same-the quantity has decreased by 1/2 oz.

Sensitive skin here – the only one I can use
    Love it

I started using this product a couple weeks ago and I love it so far.

Consistency: I would say this product is a step up from the St. Ives Apricot Scrub in that it’s a bit more coarse and exfoliates a bit better. I also like that it’s foamy; the combo makes my skin feel really clean without having to use my normal cleanser before or after.

Scent: I love the fresh, tea tree oil scent. It’s refreshing, but not so “foo-foo” as to scare away my husband from using it on occasion.

Overall Effect: Great. My skin is much softer and smoother after each use.

Size/Value: For the price, I think this is a bargain. It’s a pretty big tube (bigger than St. Ives), and you get significantly more for your money than you would of any of the higher-end brands.

For those of you who have tried other scrubs/polishes, here’s how I found it compared.

-Fresh brand Brown Sugar Body Polish: I liked the Fresh product better for my body as a spa-like treatment because it exfoliated well and had the added bonus of leaving behind a lot of moisture, but like the Yu-Be better as something that can be used for the body AND face. (There’s no way I’d use the Fresh product on my face.) Also, Yu-Be’s 7 oz. tube for $18 is much easier to swallow than Fresh’s $38 for the same size tub.

-Clinique’s 7-Day scrub: I really liked the creaminess of the Clinique product but the bead size was similar in terms of effectiveness. For $19.50 (Sephora.com) you only get 3.4 oz of Clinique, so again Yu-Be wins.

-St. Ives Apricot scrub: The Yu-Be polish is a little more gritty and effective, and personally, I prefer the scent of the Yu-Be; it just feels more refreshing to me. However, since the price of the St. Ives is $2.99 for 6 oz. (a steal!), when I use a scrub/polish on my feet from time to time, I save my money and grab my St. Ives.

    Overall, a great purchase.

I’ve used this product for years and it leaves my face feeling soft and smooth.
