This product will help keep your insulin levels in check, but will also keep in check your blood pressure. This is, and has been my experience; but the problem is this product is really expensive.
Amazon really has the best price, but it is rarely ever in stock.
If you are a borderline diabetic (or even diabetic), and/or have high blood pressure, then this Xymogen AlAmax CR will be the best thing for you. Also, if you have high blood pressure, then you will also need to take (all natural) Celery Seed Extract by Natural Factors (60 Capsules).
Now I am not going to preach to anyone, but I have had personal significant positive results; as well as personal friends and family have had Excellent progress using these 2 combinations for high blood pressure and high insulin levels.
The key here is the CR (controlled release) of the AlAmax ..the alpha lipoic acid.
Other alpha-lipoic acid products without the CR (controlled release) will dissipate in 20-30 minutes; yes they are waaay cheaper, but you will need to take them every 20-30 minutes.

This product came up when I searched for an enteric coated alpha lipoic acid capsule. In the description, it claimed to be time release as well. I took one tablet with 8 ounces of water, just before a meal. It burned my throat on the way down, and then my stomach burned for three hours, in spite of eating a meal just after taking it. It was extremely expensive, and I don’t dare take another one. Amazon SHOULD NOT handle this product. And there’s no way it was enteric coated. Amazon should do much better about displaying products that are not what the searcher asked for.

Recommended as part of regime post turning foot/ankle to heal pinched nerve in knee area. Use for 2 mos has led to improvement/less pain/discomfort. Skin & nail improvement visible. More comfortable
