Our oldest son (5) is very intelligent but would have tantrums where he couldn’t seem to control his emotions. We were cautious about giving him any kind of medication because we didn’t want to change who he was, just calm him down. The first couple days, we noticed a slight reduction in the number and intensity of the outbursts but still questioned whether or not it was the medicine or just his mood at the time. Over the next week, we noticed that he was a lot more compliant when told to turn the TV off, put toys away, or turn off a video game. Instead of uncontrolled crying and verbal outbursts, he would just huff a little and do what he was told! While on the medication, the number, intensity, and duration of any tantrum has been greatly reduced! He is now our wonderful intelligent little boy who can verbalize what is bothering him as opposed to just screaming and lashing out.
We did have a week lapse in medication when I ordered more and during that time, the tantrums went back to their previous intensity and there were no noted side effects. My wife said that I am no longer allowed to be late on another order. Our son is also picky about the flavors of medicines he will take and normally hates grape flavors. The first dose was struggle to get him to take (there might have been an ice cream bribe) but after that, he loves the taste and will even use the syringe to take the dose himself! We started the doses as stated on the bottle (1 tsp every 4 hours) but now that he is a lot calmer, he only takes it before breakfast and before dinner. This is a product that has helped my son with sleep and anxiety since he was 4 or maybe even younger. He is now 6. I wish I could say it is still helping with his anxiety but it seems as though it isn’t as well as it use to. Maybe it’s his age, level of anxiety or his size (?) that has altered the effects… I am not sure. If I could find it locally (or if I wouldn’t have spilled over half of the first bottle right after receiving it) I would use more to see if giving more in one dose or giving more throughout a day would make a difference. But for sleep, it still holds true… “Mom, I need some ‘grape medicine’ please”, and he is out like a light. He has an upcoming surgery and the little bit I have left I am going to give that morning to help calm him. Hopefully it works. Wish us luck!

My son was diagnosed with early onse ADHD (he’s 5yrs old) and I did not want to immediately turn to traditional medicines used for such diagnosis, so I did some research and I came across Kids Relief Calm. I have been giving my son this product (along with Kids Focus Factor, Synaptol, and OZzzz’s Sleep Aid) for about a month and a half and I am getting reports of huge improvements in his behavior and his grades at at school!

I gave this to my very active toddler boy and over months time this did nothing at all. At times, he seemed to gain even more energy after taking this. Not buying again! By the way, it tastes great…like grapes..but does nothing at all for calming whatsoever.

I really like the Kids Relief calm syrup, but it hasn’t helped with concentration and distractiveness in my son, as I hoped it would. Other than that it seem like a good product. I’m not sure I’ll buy again, as I needed to see more results. I will still keep watching, as we’re not yet finished.If there is anything natural like this that works for these things I may be interested.

My daughter is extremely sensitive to artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Sodium Benzoate is a widely used preservative in soft drinks and medications, but it is reportedly a carcinogen and has been linked to hyperactivity in children, especially those with ADHD or just naturally hyperactive. Sodium Benzoate makes my daughter go nuts the day after she has it, and the school can barely contain her. I was very disappointed to receive this ‘natural’ product, only to find that it contains sodium benzoate. Google sodium benzoate and you’ll be overwhelmed by different articles discussing the safety (or lack thereof) of this chemical preservative. For those attempting to control hyperactive behavior with any type of elimination diet (e.g. Feingold), you will likely find that this is not an acceptable product, and that it might actually have the opposite effect of calming your child’s behavior. I’ve noticed that other products from this company also contain sodium benzoate.
For those in search of truly all-natural products, we’ve been having luck with natural flower essences (Bach’s is the brand we use). The effect was not immediate, but it’s intended to progressively improve temperament and other emotional issues, to a point where the product is no longer needed. In other words, it’s not meant as a lifelong symptom masker, but as an actual treatment. Hope this helps those with children with food allergies / sensitivities.

I use this for my 10 year old son, he has a a temper and can have anxiety too. We both have OCD and a pinch of ADD. If he gets really upset over something and can’t collect himself, I give this to him and I notice he settles down right away. I tried it one day when I got upset over something and wanted to test it. It actually helped calm my nerves. I was happily surprised. I don’t like taking medications and I don’t like giving them to my children either. That’s why I like this product, it doesn’t have any side effects. It has a really good Grape flavor. It’s not habit forming. We use it sparingly when really needed. I wish this product would have been available to me when I was a child.
