    This body butter is very moisturizing. I have been using this product for years, it helps keep my fingers from cracking in cold weather when I wash my hands a lot. The cream is very thick and it takes a minute to work it into the skin, but the moisturizer benefits are worth it. The relaxing scent is strong but not overpowering, it smells like vanilla with some earthy undertones.

    I’ve been buying this for years and I love it. I use it as a handcream and cuticle conditioner because it’s very thick and pasty. Not so much a body butter, but excellent for super dry, cracked skin. I love supporting this small business.

    When I think of body butter, I think of a product along the lines of what the Body Shop used to stock: whipped, creamy, and easily absorbed. Fair warning, this isn’t that. You also have products like Eucerin Skin Cream, where the texture is less melty and airy and more, well, the linebacker of moisturizers. Windrift Hill Body Butter isn’t that, either. Keep going down the continuum of density toward “brick” and stop just short. You’ve arrived! Let me tell you why it is a good and useful thing to have a brick of body butter: it means your ingredients are heavy. This product contains goat’s milk, beeswax, apricot kernel oil, emulsifying wax, shea butter, mango butter, aloe vera oil, vitamin E, plus a few ingredients that aren’t so heavy. (Incidentally, the unscented type has a light smell of natural beeswax, so that’s what all you nose-wrinklers are smelling.). Here’s the other reason it’s amazing to have such a dense body butter: you can do things with it. I scooped out some of mine, added some essential oils, and whipped the devil out of it. Now I have a small container of whipped body butter! I also happen to be a lotion stick kind of gal–no, it’s not that dense–so I’m thinking of putting some in an old twist-up antiperspirant container with the holes in the top of the dispenser. Lotion stick!

    Bottom line: I’ve been getting compliments on my skin, it doesn’t give me a rash, it’s a versatile product, I’m about to buy more.
