A good fish oil. Easy to swallow! No bad flavors.

I typically take two or three capsules of fish oil per day and have done for years. So, I’m used to swallowing the large pills. Unlike any of my other Omega-3 sources I’ve used, I did suffer from fishy burps later.
As for efficacy, only time and health, with a little bit of faith can tell, I suppose. That’s pretty much the case with any supplement unless bloodwork can show definitive benefits with and without.

Everything about this product looks typical. However, a close examination of the nutritional data shows otherwise…
My current fish oil brand is “Lifebox Omega 3 Fish Oil 2000mg – 800mg EPA and 600mg DHA – Enteric Coated & Burpless for Easy Digestion Without Fishy Aftertaste – NSF Certified, 3rd Party Lab Tested & Non-GMO – 180 Softgels” for $30. At 2 capsules per day, this is 3 months’ worth at $0.34 per day

In comparison, this Sport Formula Wild caught Icelandic product is “Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg -180mg EPA and 120mg DHA, 30 capsules for $30”. At 1 capsule per day, this is 1 months’ worth at $1 per day!

Sport Formula knows and tries to justify their price; “We pay more for a 30-day supply of the highest-grade fish oil than most big box retailers sell a 90-day supply.” So?

I don’t seem to burp up fish taste with these pills as much as other brands that I’ve had. These are pretty big pills but they’re pretty easy to swallow because they’re soft gel caps. These are a bit pricey compared to other Omega 3 pills that have more combined milligrams or even more pills for the price but I guess since these are wild caught Icelandic omega fish oil pills, they’re charging more for a 30-day supply. I would think that this sport formula would have higher combined milligrams of EPA and DHA since people that work out or play sports would need higher dosages to keep their bodies healthy compared to a regular person who barely exercises. I have read that 250 to 500mg of combined EPA/DHA are the recommended daily allowances of combined EPA & DHA. These pills are only a 300mg combined dosage. I myself, I think that one pill is not enough but too would be too many for me so I would want a higher dosage to begin with, especially more than the 120mg of DHA, to match the at least the 180mg of EPA that these pills have. I am taking omega fish oil EPA/DHA to try and help treat my Sleep Apnea naturally as well as exercises and diet, so since I read that these supplements could help, I want to take the maximum dosage that I am allowed to speed up the process. Next time I will probably be buying higher dosages at a little less cost. There is no pill flavor to me unless I burp up the fish, which I haven’t much.

This Sport Formula Omega 3 fish oil supplement was available to me through the Amazon Vine program. I am not impressed. First, I normally take enteric coated fish oil supplements to avoid fishy aftertaste/burps. These Sport Formula supplements are not coated. About an hour after taking my very first softgel, I started experiencing fishy burps. Yuck! Another thing I noticed is that although these softgels contain about the same amount of EPA and DHA as the considerably less expensive Nature Made Burp-less Fish Oil supplements that I usually take, the directions on these Sport Formula supplements state to take just one per day whereas Nature Made recommends taking two daily. Taking one a day doesn’t provide as much omega-3 fatty acids compared to many other fish oil supplements available (and only half of the amount of the Nature Made mentioned). However, these Sport Formula softgels are already pricey at one a day, and obviously would be twice as expensive if taken twice per day. Between the fishy burps and their high cost, I’ll pass.

I am always looking for different EFA. This bottle looked promising, so I decided to try it.
SIZE
The capsules are the size of a typical EFA capsule. It is larger than most and is filled with the oil. I don’t have an issue swallowing, but some with issues concerning larger pills might struggle.
BURPING?
Once in a while I will burp up when taking these, but it is not that often. It usually happens when I take it on an empty stomach which is not the recommended way to take it.
PERFORMANCE
I take Essential Fatty Acids for pain and inflammation. It also helps to relax me a bit. Taking these helps take the edge off of inflammation and it does help me relax some.
THE BOTTOM LINE
These capsules are larger than many, but pretty typical for this type of supplement. It performs well.
MY RATING
FIVE STARS. I like these so far. They perform well for me. I do notice reduction in pain most of the time as well as better sleep.
