  1. Meg

Four things I like about this lotion.
    1. It is thick
    2. Amazing scent
    3. The cover is hexagonal, so easy to grip to open
    4. I works well, but not as good as a favorite one of mine

My hands are dry even in summer. I wash them a lot, due to cooking, art projects and gardening, so my index finger’s sides are often calloused and cracking. Few hand lotions really resolve this. But I have found one (Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream) and this lotion will be contrasted to that one.

    FRESH SCENT
Opening this lotion, I found I loved the scent, it is vibrant and clean. However I know my scent-averse co-worker would hate it. She was raised in a house-hold that was scent-free due to her Mom’s allergies. It reminds me a bit of Cetaphil soap.

    INGREDIENTS:
While I’m not militant about checking ingredients of hand cream, some people with allergies and skin issues are. So I try to contrast a product I’m trying for the first time, with another than I already use. Here you can see how this Cream stacks up with one that I know works for me, both financially and with ingredients.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream $17.95 for a 2 oz, 5 pack ($1.80/oz) on Amazon
    **** Water,
    **** Glycerin,
    **** Cetearyl Alcohol,
    **** Stearic Acid,

    **** Dilauryl Thiodipropionate,

    USAGE
First of all, I never use hand lotion during the day. I find I must rub my eyes often enough that it becomes an issue. My eyes are very sensitive to any type of oil and most ingredients in hand lotions apparently. So I put hand lotion on at night, every night, religiously and I have gone through quite a few. I have my tried and true ones like the Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream. I use the scented version and this is the one I rely on when my hands are really dry and cracked. In just a few days it will heal them up. But an important note on the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, it is greasy and has the consistency of thin petroleum jelly. Not something people would like to use during the day. At least many people I know have an issue with this.

This hand cream has a lighter feel though it is thicker than others and blends in nicely. I really like the feel of it. However it is not as good as the Neutrogena one in resolving cracks in my hand.

Also a note, when you look at the Amazon ad for this hand cream. At the time I got it, it was called “Advanced Skin Repair Cream For Multi-Purpose, Moisturizer for Dry Skin”. While the tub it came in calls it WBM Care, Crack Repair Cream”. I’m pointing this out as I have posted reviews and then found them under an incorrect item.

    SUMMARY:
I like this hand lotion, it works better than many other ones I have used, but if it is truly for crack repair, then the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream beats it. However the Neutrogena might not be one you would wear during the day. Also the Neutragena is less than half the price of this one.

So, there are several things I liked and didn’t like about this WBM Care Crack Repair Cream. I’ll give you the good and the bad and the ugly! First the good….it seems to work very well. It absorbs easily and did not leave my hands feeling greasy. My hands are working hands and are showing their age, poorly cracked with many little fissures all along my fingers from the cold weather, plus dishpan hands. This cream instantly softened them and made them look younger and smoother! It did not irritate my skin or burn when I first put it on and it gave me lasting relief that remained even after a hand washing. Now the bad….it is $18 a tube (as of 2/22)! Quite pricey for a hand cream. I do not mind paying for something that is top quality and works well. This works well, but is it top quality? It contains Petrolatum and Paraffinum Liquidum (aka Mineral Oil) which I typically try to avoid in my skin care products. They are cheap by-products of the oil refining industry and do not belong in $18 hand cream! The tube is also half empty, you can see this in my photo, I am holding the tube up to the light and you can see the level in the tube. It says that it is “Sustainable and Packaged for our Earth” I can’t imagine how shipping a half full, too big plastic tube is good for our Earth! This really didn’t sit well with me. Neither did the fact that this arrives unsealed. There is no outside safety seal or inner protective seal. Just two half empty tubes thrown in a bag and shipped from who knows where. That’s another thing, where is this made? It does not say and since when do health and beauty products not have to declare on the package where they are manufactured? This is distributed by a company in Flemington, NJ but no where does it state where it is manufactured! WBM Care is an international company known for its Himalayan Pink Salt products. It stands for World Business Management. Judging by the improper wording and poor grammar on the back of the package, I have to assume it is not manufactured in the USA. For example, “Severely dry, cracking, thick dead skin, it is recommended to use after shower before using the product!” and “Using frequency according to different degrees of severe cracking, increase or decrease according to the effect” or “apply to other dry and cracked positions.” Just seems very odd! Packaging aside, here’s the ugly: the scent. It has a floral scent that I liken to rose. When you first put it on, it’s not too bad, but as you wear it and it warms to your hands, it really begins to stink. It then infiltrates everything. My keyboard now stinks, my wooden kitchen table stinks, my coffee cup stinks. Everything I touched now smells like roses. Some might think that is a good thing…I do not! Neither did my husband who walk into the kitchen wrinkled up his nose and asked, “What is that smell?” I do not understand the need for scents in hand cream. The last thing you want when you are picking up your tuna sandwich at lunch time is hands that smell like roses. Oh, and the smell remained even after washing my hands, twice! So, to reacap, yes it works, but at what cost? It is over priced, poor quality and stinky.

    The good:
-Not greasy! No oily residue feeling after use!
-Leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth. For reference, my hands typically crack to the point of bleeding in the winter. The worst area for this cracking is between my fingers.
-My hands were where I saw the biggest impact. I kept a bottle at work and one on my nightstand, so I have made sure I’m applying multiple times a day, and it is showing! My hands look and feel better – no more cracked skin pain!!!
-My nail technician noticed the difference in my hands!

    The bad:
-I really like the scent, but it is pretty strong. I probably wouldn’t recommend to anyone with scent sensitivity. It’s floral- rose-ish with a light herb undertone.
    – So far I have not noticed a difference in my heels or stretch marks. I only apply once daily in those areas though.
    – While my hands were at their worst, I was applying very frequently. To me this was better than applying something thick that would feel greasy, but some may not like the frequent application.

I hope that helps! I like this product as a hand cream. The instructions are very broken English (in fact, they don’t even call them instructions, it says “To Warm”) but they are discernible from context.
