I think the whiners who think these taste awful have never tried iron pills or been anemic before. I have tried almost everything on the market, and anything that has significant iron is going to have an aftertaste of metal. This brand is not bad and the sugary grape taste mostly overpowers it. If you don’t like the aftertaste, just drink juice – not a big deal. Believe me, when you have had a hemoglobin of 4.5, you’re not going to mess around. Several transfusions later, these make the best of a bad situation. They were good enough for me to put on my subscribe and save for monthly orders.

I think these taste great. The “rusty nail” flavor described by others is not noticeable to me. There is a slight iron aftertaste, because these are after all, iron gummies. However, compared to all other iron supplements I’ve tried, these are easy on my stomach and digestive system, and do not cause nausea. The vitamin C helps with absorption and means I don’t have to take a separate supplement. They are not very “chewy” as they are pectin, not gelatin, based. They do not taste like candy but they are not advertised as candy. These are one of the better tasting gummy supplements I’ve had of any vitamin/mineral from any company. Highly recommended.

This is a jelly vitamin. I put 5 stars for easy to swallow because it’s not hard to swallow per se but this is not a pill you swallow whole. You have to chew it before you swallow it down. I got these for a child because every other iron supplement was a pill (which young children can’t or won’t take) or a gross tasting liquid. My daughter likes the shapes (used to be stars, now they are bears) and she likes the taste. I tried one too out of curiosity and thought they tasted pleasant. My pediatricians office even asked about them because apparently finding an iron supplement for young kids that won’t take pills that doesn’t taste awful is hard to find. Bonus if it matters to you I believe these are vegan and kosher.

Pros and cons
I came to write a review because I thought I received an old batch or something.🤣 But after reading other reviews, I realize, this is how they were made.
The first one you eat is going to be shocking but you get use to it after a few days.
These really feel like old, rotten, sugar coated gummies that have started to melt after being left in my car for a month. LOL
They have a weird, soft, gritty texture. The flavor is sweet, tart and metallic.
It’s the flavor mixed with the texture that made it hard for me to eat these the first couple of days lol The amount of vanilla extract is way too much for me, as I’m not a fan of too much vanilla. But that’s a me issue.
However, they are not horrible, they devolve and go down quickly, so it’s easy to just eat it and get it over with. And as mentioned before, you do get use to it. This is way better than burping gross pill formed Vitiman flavor all day and being forced to relive that disgusting taste all day long lol These do not cause one to burp Vitiman taste.
I do get a metallic taste on my tongue after eating them but it doesn’t last long and I’m on about my day with no issue.

Product not the same as depicted in the listing. Shows stars, but when I opened the bottle they were bear shaped. Not that important I thought, still kind of weird that they would sell a product that isn’t shown accurately online, but that’s beyond the iron that I need in my body. Though I almost couldn’t eat one of these, I know they aren’t gummies but these jellies are CRUNCHY because of the sugar coating like it’s a no from me dawg. But that’s the outside right but no it feels like that the whole way thru. I can imagine it may not be easy to just use any formula to mask the strong taste of iron, but these just are not it. I don’t mind sugar coated candies, in fact my favorite brand of cbd gummies have a sugar coating outside and are less “gummy” and more “jelly” but they don’t taste like I’m eating a lip scrub exfoliator.

: : I was told by my doctor my iron count was incredibly low (almost anemic) and that I really needed to be on a regular supplement. I tried the pills & they were either harsh to go down or made my stomach upset & tasted horrible. These had the exact consistency of sour patch kids but taste like sugary grape gummies. Granted YES … in my opinion I do taste a slight “metallic” aftertaste but there is iron in them after all so to me it just reminds me that it’s good I’m getting iron in my system. The aftertaste is very slight in my opinion & these are very easy to take! : :

I purchased a bunch of these back in 2018 because I had low iron. They were delicious and easy to chew. Came in a star shape, like the picture. Just purchased another bottle recently and they’re in a gummy bear shape, and have a gross, bitter taste to them. I’m not sure what they changed, but it’s hard to force myself to chew them up when they’re nasty, so I will probably find another brand for next time. I wish they hadn’t changed the formula!

No cramps, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. This is a first for me–not having iron give me horrible side effects!
I’d like to give a big *facepalm* and “duh” to the people complaining about the iron taste–it’s an iron gummy. What’d you all think it was going to taste like?! And, seriously, they don’t taste bad. If you’re anemic and tired you should be taking them for your health, and not the taste.
These gummies are best for people who have digestional issues or absorption problems. Or for people who can’t swallow a pill.
After taking these for a short time I feel great, my doctor is happy with my numbers, and I look forward to eating them. I’ll buy these for life!
UPDATE 10/15/17
Still my favorite supplement for getting my iron to combat my anemia. The packaging has been updated and the gummy is better. It dissolves quicker and is less like a gummy bear. I love the taste. I don’t mind taking it. It doesn’t upset my stomach. I prefer these over any iron supplement I’ve ever taken (20+ years anemic).
