I think this charcoal did the job I wanted it to do. I could feel I was having more tarter build up around my teeth and wasn’t ready to go get my teeth cleaned. I also wanted to pull some of the coffee, red wine, and whiskey stains off my teeth. I do drink tons of water, but those three things seem to stain teeth so easily. I have tried bleach trays, strips, and etc. They always work just fine, but they make my teeth so sensitive that it isn’t worth it. I also don’t like putting that stuff on my teeth just for the yucky factor. I have also tried using coconut oil to rinse out your mouth. What is that called? Oil pulling?? Anyway, I gagged and again thought it wasn’t worth it. So, I was left just trying to find whitening toothpaste that didn’t leave my sensitive and buying lipsticks that didn’t make my teeth look more yellow. I realize I could give up the things staining my teeth, but who are we kidding???!!!! Lol!!

I’m loving it. Yes, it is messy. Be oh so careful opening the tub EVERY SINGLE TIME. I highly recommend doing this after you get out of shower, while on a towel, leaning deep into the sink. Oh! And don’t sneeze! If you follow those directions, you should be fine.
I read up on “why charcoal”. The whole premise behind it is it should bind to substances in your mouth and then you can rinse them away. I found this to be completely accurate. The charcoal stuck to the tarter and pulled it off my teeth, along with a bit of the stains. I found the first time I used it I had to scrub it off more around the bottom edges of my teeth were tarter builds up. The next 4 times I used it it didn’t do that. The reason is my teeth were cleaner every time and less to bind to.
I normally feel like I need to brush my teeth twice before I get all the coffee out of my mouth, but brushing with the charcoal makes my mouth feel so much cleaner. I have that after dentist clean feeling every time I use this stuff.
I DO NOT think this stuff can substitute for a dentist or teeth cleaning, but I think when I sit in the chair there will be a lot less tarter to clean.
Also, i think for what it does the price is great. I plan to make a charcoal face mask with it.

Activated charcoal has many wonderful purposes. It can be used to reduce bloating, as a face mask, to whiten teeth (although I recently read one online article that advised against this) etc etc. I purchased this to utilise as a face mask. Firstly may I see I received this ahead of the stated delivery date which was great. To utilise it as a face mask I mixed it with a few drops of school glue and applied it to my face. Word of warning, this is not for the faint hearted!. After leaving it on for around about 10mins the very black mask transforms from a wet gel like appearance to a dull Matt hard consistency. It is above average pain to peel the mask away. But if you are brave enough to dare this it has its benefits as it acts not only as a skin exfoliator, but draws out those unsightly black and white heads and any unwanted hair. Once I was able to bare the pain of removing the mask I was left with baby smooth skin which felt truly invigorated. I couldn’t recommend the quality of this product highly enough. Well worth the price tag as very little of the product was required for the purpose I needed it for. Would definitely buy again.

Amazon Customer –
I’ve never left a review on anything I’ve bought from Amazon but I had to for this because I love it! Ordered on the 26th of Dec. and received it in the mail packaged very securely on the 28th with Amazon Prime for students. Read a lot of reviews on various charcoal powders and how it is messy to open so I took the advice some reviewers left and opened it very carefully and then poked tiny holes in the foil covering. Powder immediately started coming out of the tiny holes, cool to watch, but definitely indicative of how potentially messy it would have been! I used it as a mask mixed with non-toxic glue and a few oils (rosehip, joboba and sweet almond). I made masks for me, my mom and my sister and it is best to apply it really thick so it’ll be easier to take off. I applied my mom’s somewhat thin and she had trouble taking it off easily. It definitely gets out all the dirt and pores and can take off facial hair which I don’t mind (but be careful around edges and eyebrows). My skin felt SO soft after and smooth.
As far as using it to brush your teeth, I’ve been using it for two days now and I have definitely noticed a difference especially after the fourth brush. Brushing can get messy so brush close to the sink and spit directly in it (but also keep some sink cleaner and a sponge on deck). It feels a bit weird at first and it tastes like…charcoal…but it works. Definitely have to wash your mouth out a lot afterwards, recommend rinsing with mouthwash too. Your teeth will look gray if you don’t rinse out completely but once you do, you will see results after a few brushes.
Get this one, especially if you are just getting into skin care and are interested in activated charcoal. For roughly one ounce this is a steal plus you can figure out if you like it instead of buying a 12oz jar for your first time using activated charcoal.

Great quality, love the glass jar. We bought it for teeth cleaning but have not used it for anything else…YET! Here are some of the uses for the awesome product!
1.Whitens Teeth…It works to whiten teeth by adsorbing plaque and microscopic tidbits that stain teeth.
2.Alleviates Gas & Bloating…It works by binding the gas-causing byproducts in foods that cause discomfort.
3. Treats Alcohol Poisoning & Helps Prevent Hangovers… activated charcoal does not adsorb alcohol, it does help quickly remove other toxins f rom the body that contribute to poisoning.
4. Mold Cleansing….Toxic mold causes depression, kidney and liver failure, decreased brain function, heart disease, eye irritation, headaches, vomiting, impaired immune system function, and severe respiratory distress.
5.Water Filtration….Activated charcoal traps impurities in water including solvents, pesticides, industrial waste and other chemicals.
6. Emergency Toxin Removal….As mentioned above, one of the most common activated charcoal uses is to remove toxin and chemicals in the event of ingestion. Activated charcoal is also used in the event of an accidental, or purposeful, overdose of many pharmaceutical drugs and over-the-counter medications.
7.Skin and Body Health…. external treatments, it’s effective at treating body odor and acne and relieving discomfort from insect bites, rashes from poison ivy or poison oak, and snake bites.
8. Digestive Cleanse….Activated charcoal uses help promote a healthy digestive tract by removing toxins that cause allergic reactions, oxidative damage and poor immune system function.
9.Anti-Aging….Activated charcoal uses include helping prevent cellular damage to kidneys and liver, as well as supporting healthy adrenal glands.
10.Reduces High Cholesterol….Studies around the world show that activated charcoal reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol as much as some prescription medications.

Pros- No Taste
Multifunctional
Comes in a glass jar
Cons- Can be messy. Place a Papertowel underneath before you open.
When you first open puff of charcoal will come out ( remove seal slowly- away from you and keep half of the sealed protector on to prevent further mess).
Use before you get ready to minimise spoiling your clothes.
-Would be a bonus if small scoop was included.
