I too thought that I would have to live with migraine headaches and chronic sinusitis headaches on a daily basis for the rest of my life. I have suffered with chronic sinus issues for over 20 years. I have had two sinus surgeries within this timeframe. My doctors, ENT doctors, and Neurologist, has tried almost every medicine you can imagine for treatment. Nothing has helped. Many of the meds I am allergic to. I had a severe headache and panic attack about 2 years ago, and ended up in the emergency room, resulting in the doctors determining that I was suffering with a severe migraine which lead to an anxiety attack. WOW! My neurologist informed me that I probably was suffering with migraine headaches all along, and that the doctors were so focused on treating the sinus issues, they had missed the migraines. Still, no medicines were helping. The medicines only made me sick and kept in a fog…if you will. And I still had a headache everyday. I decided to ditch the meds and just suffer through the headaches. The slightest change in weather, certain foods, and various lighting in different environments would intensify my headaches. My eyesight had really started to bother me and I deal alot with blurry vision. Long story short…a friend of mind who visits a holistic doctor introduce me to Butterbur Extra … and the rest is history. I started using it this month. This stuff really works. The first couple of days, I was reluctant to become excited or to jump for joy, because I could not believe that I had experienced two days in a row without a headache. This supplement was LIFE CHANGING!!!
I was having cluster headaches and migraines and nothing was working to stop them from reoccurring. I was home all day alone with my 2 year old kiddo but I would be down for the count multiple times a week or month. There is a limit to how many sick days my hubby could take to watch our kiddo when a migraine was so bad. It was so stressful, especially when I first moved to where I live now – away from family and not really knowing anyone who I trusted to watch my kiddo. I was feeling overwhelmed and anxious all the time about when the next one would come and praying they happened when my hubby had days off work.
Dr. Hudson prescribed this for me and she told me to give it two weeks and to tell her if it made a difference. After two weeks I noticed the headaches were less and less frequent as well as less intense and after a few months of taking it they stopped all together. I have since recommended this to a friend who has been diagnosed with chronic migraine (having a migraine multiple times a month) and she said she noticed a big difference in frequency and duration of her migraines as well.

I originally purchased this product as a daily preventative for my frequent migraines I was suffering from. My brother, a dietitian, recommended this product because of its anti-inflammatory properties since migraines at their root are caused by inflammation. I have been taking this now for nearly a year, and I take one or two tablets daily depending on what I feel my need is. I have noticed a big difference in the frequency of my migraines. I was having 1-3 migraines every week which brought along nausea, eye pressure, sensitivity to light and noise and extreme fatigue. I am now only having 1-2 migraines per month.
In reading the comments, I read that some people have an added benefit of experiencing mood-stabilization effects from this supplement. I wasn’t expecting anything on that front, but my friends tell me that they notice a difference in my moods whenever I run out of pills versus when I’m taking them every day. I’ve noticed a small difference myself in a decrease in irritability and moodiness, so for me I’ve gotten to experience that bonus impact. Overall, great product and worth the money. I’m so happy that I have found a natural alternative that actually treats the cause of my migraines (inflammation) rather than a pain killer that just masks the pain.
