I need to start this review and saying this is an effective vegan supplement, I’ve been taking it for a year and my hair and nails are healthier and growing stronger than ever. I take other Deva supplements and love them. I just have to share however that these particular vitamins smell bad, taste terrible, and are kind of a rough pill so they are quite challenging to swallow. Something to consider!
Why do you want to know? –
Results become significantly evident when you take them twice a day (morning and night). Instructions say you can take it once a day or twice a day. I don’t know why people are complaining about the size, taste, smell, etc. Talk about first-world problems. Size is too big? Cut it in half. I am size XS and have no issues swallowing them whole. Are you all smaller than me that it is not going down your throat? If the manufacturer cut these in half and sold it to you that way then you would complain that they don’t work (because each pill would not be as potent). If they cut them in half and told you to double the dosage then you would complain that it is not a good value for money. Taste is bad? Take it with food; in fact, directions tell you to take it with food. Given that these pills are to be swallowed and NOT chewed and are also to be taken with food, how is their taste relevant? Smells bad? Who told you to sit there and smell it? Are you telling me you cannot stomach something that smells unpleasant for literally one second, especially when it benefits your health? I guess y’all waste matter smell like rainbows and flowers from high heavens that you are all sooo sensitive to smell. SMH. If the manufacturer put preservatives in it to make it smell better then you would all complain that it contains artificial stuff. This is a good, clean, high quality product, and if people keep complaining about stuff that does not really matter, manufacturer will probably feel tempted to change the formulation to keep these naggers happy.

I took 2 vitamins/day for 14 consecutive days. After about a week I noticed a considerable difference in my nails; the white spots were almost gone, my nails seemed thicker/stronger, and they were very smooth and shiny. I did not notice a difference in my hair, but I probably wasn’t taking them long enough. Unfortunately, on the 12th day I developed a rash and hives on my stomach, back, and arms. Two days later when the rash hadn’t subsided I went to the doctor and I am allergic to one of the inactive ingredients that binds the vitamin together. I quit taking the vitamins immediately and it took another 2 weeks for the rash to subside and the itching to stop. I wanted to love these vitamins; they seemed to work very well for what they advertised.

Yes, the pill is gigantic. Yes, it smells and tastes like a big hot bowl of Indian curry. But, it’s tolerable and these things work! I always try to grow out my nails but they always end up breaking because I tend to be rough with my hands. These took affect really fast, nails are super hard now. I even accidentally slammed my nail into a drawer the other day, full expecting to see a broken nail after, and my nail wasn’t even chipped. Haven’t noticed any major changes in skin and hair, but I only started taking these 2 weeks ago. So far very happy with the results.

Ignore the holier-than-thou 5-star review saying to just get over the smell and taste. It is BAD. After opening the package I could immediately smell it. I sometimes have a hard time swallowing pills, and this one is a very large. But it literally made me gag from how bad it smells and tastes. I can’t speak to the efficacy of them because I physically cannot get them down. I should have trusted the reviews that the smell is actually that bad. Thinking they’ll end up in the trash, unfortunately.

Because they are uncoated, they have a tendency to get stuck in my throat. I tried splitting them in half, but to no avail. I can’t speak to the quality/efficacy because I don’t have a lab to test them, but they seem just ok. I’ve been taking them for about 6 months but haven’t noticed any changes to my hair or nails.
They’re also a bit on the smelly side, so be ready for a bit of an aftertaste.

These vitamins are great! My hair is longer than it’s ever been, my toenails grow like crazy, and my fingernails are strong and healthy and grow so fast I need to clip them much more often. Very happy with these vitamins. I don’t know if they’ve helped my skin, but I got them mostly for my hair and nails.
I take two daily with one DEVA Prenatal.

My nails were very brittle and breaking a lot and my hair was shedding a lot after I gave birth. These strengthened my nails and my hair and my hair is actually growing now and not shedding as much. I definitely recommend! I take mine with juice or coffee because it does have a different taste.
