Not my favorite, I ended up not being able to stomach them. The bottle is heavy duty though and they are an affordable price for me. They pills themselves were larger than expected.
Miss.Chell –
So i just received my first bottle of these vitamins after doing extensive research on them and loving that they are whole food based and all natural and contain so much more good stuff than your average prenatal (hello? how many have probiotics?)
Anyway I just got them in the mail today and when I opened the bottle my first thought was “these are considered small?” The thought brought on by reading other reviews that said they were small and easy to take. However when comparing them to a One-A-Days prenatals (I had purchased them at a much earlier date and could not for the life of me swallow those things)… I realized they really were small. I took my first one since it was lunch time and had no problems swallowing it, super sensitive gag reflex and all.
I have also read that some people are turned off by the smell. And when I opened the bottle I had to laugh. If you’ve never been in a health food or all natural store (And not a place like Mom’s Organic Market, I mean one of the little ones) I can certainly understand why someone would be shocked by the smell.. It just the smell of natural. There’s nothing wrong with them and it was comforting to me because I know that they are as natural as the company claims.
I’d also like to point out that the instructions DO say to take three pills. But if you go onto New Chapter’s website, it says plain as day that these doses can be taken at any time. Ive seen some women say they take all three at once. Because this is organic, it wont hurt you to take it all at once. The main reason they recommend spreading them throughout your day is because it more closely mimics the natural absorption of food as you would from eating a perfect meal for every meal. It merely aids in absorption. This being said, the three pill dosage also allows you to not take the whole dosage if you dont feel like you need so much. I eat a fairly healthy and balanced diet, so I will probably stick with only 2 pills. Which will also make my bottle last longer.
Food for thought. Will update this after Ive been taking them for a while.
***********Update********
Almost a month of taking these vitamins and I love them. I love the freedom of being able to take the dosage I feel is appropriate for my body, instead of swallowing some huge pill. I take one every morning (and yes, I can take it on an empty stomach just fine, though I rarely do) and then monitor what I eat throughout the day to decide if I should take the second one. I usually always do, but I never take the third one. I have a fairly good diet, and dont feel that I need my vitamins to provide 100% of my nutrients. I feel great on these, though I cant say I notice a difference if I miss a day. I just like knowing Im not severely lacking anything major.
I still have not had any problems swallowing these which is a miracle.

These are great. I enjoy the fact that I can take them on an empty stomach in the morning (as I’m rushing out the door for work) and not have to worry about feeling nauseous later on. I typically take two in the morning and am sure to take another when I get in from work and am eating dinner. Also, with 600mg of actual folate (instead of synthetic folic acid), my mind is put at ease knowing that I’m not giving my baby something synthetic to draw nourishment from during these first few weeks in his/her’s development. Knock on wood, I haven’t had any morning sickness or vomiting and I’m just over 6 weeks pregnant. My friends believe I’m plain lucky now, but it’s sure to come. They could be right, but I think it has something to do with the fact that these prenatal vitamins are Organic and not over-processed. There’s something to be said for not bombarding your system with lots of man-made (or synthetic) elements when there’s so much change going on already. Some prenatal vitamins make women ill, I don’t think these are that type. But then again, this is all I’ve ever taken. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that morning sickness is very minimal if/when it does show up in the next few weeks.

As a health care provider, I spent a lot of time looking for the best prenatal. I like these and the Thorne basic prenatal vitamin. I like that this vitamin is fermented, so the nutrients are bio available. I also like that it has both methylated folate and folic acid. Overall it’s super easy to take. I have no issues taking it on an empty stomach. Highly recommend.

These are the best prenatals made from whole food ingredients. Love how they are a source of probiotics too
Super easy on the stomach never nauseous after taking these

I’m currently 10wks pregnant and have not experienced any morning sickness. These prenatal vitamins are a great purchase. Price wise, taste and the fact that they are vegetarian is important to me as I have been a vegetarian for the past 10 years. I would highly recommend this product to expectant mothers.

I just switched from Rainbow Light prenatals to New Chapter Prenatal. Three main reasons for the switch: 1. In my personal opinion, too much lead in the Rainbow Light prenatals (you can find the report online by searching it), 2. Rainbow Light pills are huge and very difficult to swallow, even though I took them for over a year while pregnant I was still having a hard time swallowing those pills, and 3. serving size is 6 pills a day (yes, 6 huge pills a day). Other than these three reasons, nothing wrong with rainbow Light prenatals, they never made me sick and my baby was born very healthy. Now going back to New Chapter Prenatals, which I started taking while nursing my baby: great multivitamins, they don’t make me sick or nauseated, the pills don’t have a smell at all, and they’re much smaller and easier to swallow and the serving size is only 3 a day, so you can take one with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, the lead levels are lower in these prenatals. Another plus: no artificial anything, have you seen how many artificial dyes are used in the “cheap” prenatals? If you do some research you’ll learn that artificial dyes can cause problems to the fetus. No prenatal/multivitamin is perfect and you shouldn’t expect it to supply you with all your vitamins/minerals needs. That’s why they are called “supplements”, they are suppose to “supplement” your diet and not substitute it. Your primary concern, especially if you’re pregnant should be with what you eat. Even though I try to eat healthy (no fast food and minimal processed food), I still take additional supplements to my prenatal such as calcium, vitamin d3, vitamin c… So far I’m happy with New Chapter Prenatal, and I even signed up for the subscribe and save program, so I can save about $10 a bottle by buying it through Amazon compared to my local health food store.

It is terrible ! I truly wanted to like it and I tried many times to take it but it’s terrible ! Gives me terrible stomach ache nausea gases and diarrhoea ! I wanted to like it because of its natural ingredients but it’s the worst vitamin I ever took and I don’t even have any food sensitivities!
