I’ve tried many D3 and D3+K2 supplements in the past couple years, especially the latter, because I’ve discovered that it’s likely better to take D3 along with K2 due to its promotion of K2-dependent proteins that require K2 to function properly (research is ongoing). While I’m not personally concerned about lack of calcium intake, some competing products include it because D3 and K2 help ensure that it’s properly deposited in bones. To compensate for this lack of K2, I had been consuming separate products, such as Complete K from a Norwegian label called Supersmart, which provides both K1 and K2. The math to determine the appropriate ratio of D3:K2 is simple, but it’s convenient to consume both from the same product. The standard dosage of D3 is 125mcg (5000 IU), and the standard dosage of K2 is 100mcg. But strangely, this Life Strength product doesn’t follow the standard, instead providing 5x the amount of K2. What differentiates this Life Strength product for me is its inclusion of vitamin A as well, as I’ve never previously tried D3+K2+A, although I do typically consume a whole food multivitamin containing A at the same time. According to the product description here, vitamin A is “critical for growth of strong and healthy bones and maintaining bone health”, but doesn’t really explain the connection with D3 and K2. The product descriptions of two other A+D3+K2 products I’ve recently tried from NutriCology and Allergy Research Group explain the relationship a bit better, stating that D3 balanced by A “may better support vitamin D’s interaction with the many kinds of tissues in the human body that have vitamin D receptors”. These two other products also include tocotrienols, but since the benefit isn’t explained and I wasn’t able to find an explanation after doing some light research, I don’t see this as an issue. While I have an unusually strong immune system relative to other people (other people have expressed anger at me that I don’t get sick when I’m surrounded by sick people), I know when I feel even a slight tinge of illness that I need to grab the Colostrum, Vitamin D3+K2, and Vitamin C in order to prevent too much negative impact. I also grab this combination of supplements when I feel especially tired due to a string of long work days, because I know I’m more vulnerable to illness. Don’t pay attention to physicians who state that megadoses of D3 shouldn’t be taken (some physicians think that the standard 125mcg dosage of D3 is already megadose status). While you should always know your specific body before taking megadoses, physicians generally don’t know what they’re talking about because the vast majority of them don’t understand supplements, generally depending on pharmaceutical companies to train them to prescribe only patented medications. All of this said, I’ve had a good experience with this Life Strength product.

This is the smallest vitamin capsule I have ever seen. The recommendation is one capsule per day for 90 days and it contains essential fat-soluble vitamins. I started taking fat-soluble vitamins to help boost my immune system, reduce joint pain and hair shedding. I was unaware of the importance of these vitamins until I started having many issues with my body. These include joint pain, allergies, hair loss, and skin disorders. I saw multiple specialists who could not diagnose me until I visited a DO who ran a blood test and noticed my vitamin D and other vitamin levels were low. This vitamin blend, Zinc, and Vitamin Bs work well. My skin cleared up, and my hair is shedding way less. I will stick to this blend since it is working for me.

My 93 year old Grandfather aspirates and has difficulty swallowing pills …so it’s been wonderful having one small capsule that replaces three individual supplements! I’m very happy with them and will be using this to replace my supplements when they run out!

How does one actually rate something like a supplement? I’m not a medical doctor or nutritionist nor do I have a scientific way to measure their effectiveness. Just what criteria does one use in this situation? I recently had some medically ordered lab work done. It found that I had some vitamin deficiencies. So, I’m going to use the following criteria to review this and other supplements: covers the items that a lab has said I’m deficient in, easy to use/swallow, any perceived side effects/benefits and of course, cost.
This supplement covered a multitude of items my lab report identified that I was deficient in and only requires one small, very easy to swallow pill per day. The bottle has no child proof cap making it easy to open for anyone. I haven’t noticed any benefit yet nor did I really expect to but I also haven’t had any negative side effects. A 3 month supply for under 20 bucks isn’t really that bad either.

These Life Strength pills might as well be called life, heart and bone savers. If you are on blood thinners ( even the specialized super expensive ones- European studies!!) your bones are being attacked and you could develop osteoporosis and at a much faster rate than without blood thinners ( K2 Antagonists) And if you take in addition a calcium channel blocker ( usually ending in ..lol) your body is being washed and cleansed of calcium and K2. The only way you get more calcium, D and K2 in your body are supplements, and ADK has these ingredients in very powerful dosages.1250% D3 and 625% K2. Some of this will stay in you and keep bones strong, add weight bearing exercises, go daily 15 minutes in the sun ( no sunscreen) and eat well and drink in moderation . The ADK supplement currently costs $19.59 and it gets better by subtracting the 18% coupon, each bottle has 90 servings and lasts 3 month. That’s less than 18 cents per day. Take care of your heart and bones and your wallet.
