This is an awesome supplement for me and I love that it is in powder form so you can control the amount you take. The recommended dose for this is 3/4 of a scoop which is 750mg or 1/4 teaspoon. There is a small scoop included but you’ll probably have to fish around for it in the bag. Mine was fortunately near the top.
For me, this takes about 15 minutes to kick in on an empty stomach and the calming effects are very noticeable. Some people like to take GABA before bed to help with sleep but I’ve normally taken it during the day for mood support. I think both can be helpful and it just depends on your preference and how your body responds to it. It can potentially make you drowsy if taken during the day, but it doesn’t have that effect on me. Also, for some people it gives a temporary body tingle or prickly feeling so that’s something to note.
This is a great supplement for my needs and the bonus is the bag actually seals. It’s not one of those useless supplement bags that you have to re-bag after opening. My bag expires in March 2026. I didn’t hesitate to order this as I have tried several supplements from Vitamatic and they’ve all been good. Five stars for me!
Update:
I’ve been taking this daily for about 2.5 weeks and it’s a game changer for me. I have a stack for anxiety that I take, but this GABA was very noticeably and immediately effective. You may know within several days if you actually need this supplement. You may not need it, so listen to your body. Personally, I feel a lot calmer and don’t get the physical anxiety pangs that are the hardest part of anxiety for me to handle. Once those are under control, the anxious thoughts feel way more manageable, and more often than not, they’re just not there. I am up to taking two 750mg doses a day, one in the am and one before bed. I haven’t noticed any effects on sleep either way but during the day I feel so much better. I plan to cycle this supplement just to be on the safe side. I have taken GABA in tablet form before and the effects were there but not nearly as profound as the powder form. This is a winner for me and I will be back to reorder.

I’ve never been one for supplements but recently started a comprehensive workout and food routine because I’m “at about that age”! GABA was recommended (a different brand, 4x the price) as a part of that so I gave it a go.
I’m a terrible sleeper anyway and found this to be quite helpful, without any side effects or ‘groggy’ aftereffects in the morning.
One note; the first time I used it, I kind of guessed at the serving size — don’t do that, it has enough strength that you should measure it out specifically.
Just as good as any other brand at $$ lower.

This bulk supplement is a straight 1 sustance ingredient with no fillers.
Love having gotten this for many reasons. I’m getting where I don’t like swallowing capsules. This can be taken in many different foods. I don’t take it in water..it’s not pleasant!
It’s great to not have to go down a list of ‘other ingredients’ and figure out what they are or do. Just getting my GABA.
It is one ingredient that helps quiet my mind & allows me to wind down to fall asleep. I take an hour before bed.
The price is very good for that many serving.
One concern is the lack of a ‘3rd party tested’ seal. Don’t always trust that the full potency level is there.
But I do feel relaxed after taking it so there is a level of legitamacy there I feel.
Gaba is not for everyone, so do your research for what you are trying to get from using it & consult a health provider if unsure.

This GABA powder comes in a mylar zipper envelope. The cost of $15 for 8.8 ounces may seem high, but compared to buying GABA supplements in capsules, this is the absolute best way to go. $15 for 333 servings is less than 5¢ per serving.
The powder can be mixed with drink or food (applesauce, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt). Sometimes I put powder in capsules – there are lots on Amazon. I use ‘The Capsule Machine’ to manually fill my capsules. The capsule machine is USA made and about $20. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t permit selling of capsule filling machines, so you’d have to search the internet. I really wish Amazon allowed them to be sold, they allow the capsules, and the tiny tools to hand fill them. I’m just used to Amazon being my one stop shop.
Using bulk powder instead of capsules is not only so much more affordable, there is also the added benefit of NO fillers.
What I don’t like about this supplement is that there is no information disclosed about where it’s made. While there is NO information on the product stating where it is made, the only information I see that even comes close is in the Product details in the ad. It states country of origin: USA.
The definition for Country of origin (CO) is: represents the country or countries of manufacture, production, design, or brand origin where an article or product comes from. So, the item could be designed in or the brand name from USA, while production takes place outside the USA.
In the ‘About this item’ section, it states: “Packaged in the USA with strict GMP Standards”. To me, this means the powder was purchased from a 3rd party, probably in China, then ‘packaged in the USA’ . I really do not like the lack of transparency.
This is why I trust only the ‘Made in (country name)’, and want to see it ON the product. In this case, It does NOT state Made in USA on the label.
That said, most supplements are like this, and as sad as it is, most are not actually made in the USA.
