This product gets highest marks from ConsumerLab.com’s tests for boswella joint-pain products. Yes, it is made by Vitacost and is featured on their website, but — go figure — sells for much, much less than the identical product bottled under the Vitacost name. Indeed, it’s even cheaper yet at Vitacost’s website, but after trying to wade through all the ordering hassles I felt it wasn’t worth it and have continued using Az Prime.
We take a cocktail of joint-pain preventatives and relievers, all of which have passed muster in ConsumerLab’s tests. Thus, it’s not possible to differentiate the improvement provided by any single supplement, including 5-Loxin boswella. However, the overall result has been a vast reduction in joint pain of various types, especially after having taken these supplements for over a year.

This is a good product, but it doesn’t take away all my arthritis pains. I need to take two pills 2x a day in order to feel any benefit from them And I may take more so I’m pleased that there are 120 capsules in the bottle. This is better than the normal Boswellia pills which you have to take tons of to get any difference.
It’s just me –
I wish I could say this product produced a miracle cure for me, but, sadly it didn’t. I’ve been taking Savestas’s boswellia that also contains AKBA & has a much higher amount of boswellia in one tablet (500 mg) as opposed to taking 2 of the 5-Loxin. Well..you never know until you try & I won’t be buying this one again.

This is the absolute best natural anti-inflammatory I’ve found for joint, stomach and brain inflammation. Works better than Curcumin in my opinion. This is also the best version (5-Loxin) of Boswellia you can get. Great price and very effective. There a few other companies selling the 5-Loxin extract at much higher prices. Don’t be fooled, they all contain the same exact extract formulated by Laila Nutra. Why pay more? Get this one for half the price.

i have been suffering from debilitating knee pain for years, making it very hard to climb up or down stairs. I started taking a supplement that contained a small percentage of 5-Loxin and noticed some improvement. I researched the individual boswelia serrata extract supplement, and saw that Vitacost carried it, so ordered it just on the chance that I might find some additional relief. Much to my happy amazement, within just a FEW DAYS my knee pain was almost entirely GONE!! I am now running up and down the stairs with barely any twinge of pain at all! This has been a life -saver for me. I still can hardly believe it!! I used to cringe at just the thought of having to go up or down the stairs … now it is absolutely no problem at all! I am pain free!!! I am still getting used to this feeling, it is just so foreign to me to be without that pain!!! For me, it is truly a miracle!!

Unlike many other reviewers here, I chose 5-Loxin because I heard it works as an intestinal anti-inflammatory…and work it does. It has de-inflamed my entire abdomen! I look as though I’ve lost weight, but I have not. On top of this, 5-Loxin has slowed my intestinal transit time, which allows food to be completely digested and ensures everything is, uhh, fully baked by the time it re-emerges. It also seems to have set off an anti-inflammatory cascade all over my body. Within 2 days of starting 5-Loxin, a long-simmering infection in my finger completely resolved itself. Then a nagging knee injury started to heal more quickly than before and stiffness at the base of my rib cage disappeared. I lose noticeably less hair in the shower, also.
Tips: Take this at the beginning of your meal rather than the end, otherwise you’ll have incense-flavored burps (5-Loxin is derived from frankincense). Start low and go slow in terms of dosage, otherwise you might feel a bit constipated at first. I take one of these with each meal.

I’m NOT a big fan of supplements and though, from time to time, I’ve tried my share, I usually just don’t reoder them if they don’t work in the timeframe described. THIS ONE I WILL REORDER BECAUSE IT WORKS AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN IBUPROFEN OR OTHER NSAIDS for my Osteoarthritis.
Admittedly I tend to be critical of the “supplement” industry because there ARE a lots of products that have great marketing claims but no results for most people. And because supplements are not FDA regulated, many of these companies really get away with “implying” a lot (fluff) without directly stating a claim. BUT THIS PRODUCT, Boswellia serrata extract DOES have ample clinical research and I read many clinical research articles and decided to give it a try in order to stop or reduce the amount of NSAIDs I use for pain relief. Bottom line — I was quite amazed at the reduction in inflammation within 1 – 2 days of taking just 1 pill (not 2) a day. It really helped my feet, knees, hips and back and I’d say that just one tablet for me was AS EFFECTIVE or MORE EFFECTIVE than 1 300 mg Ibuprofen.
I chose this BRAND because of the form of the active ingredient and because it’s on the approved list of supplements on the site I belong to that tests different supplements for content against claims of ingredients. I also chose it because based on research it appeared that this “extract” would be far better for Osteoarthritis than the less purified plant, ensuring a specific amount of the extract per pill. EVEN BETTER, of all the brands tested, mg for mg of extract, this was also the best price.
I will be buying again.
