I’ve had issues in the past with negative reactions to cold meds, and with COPD and other health issues, I need to be really careful what I take. My doc suggested that this might work for me — none of the ingredients (active or inactive) conflict with my regular meds, so I decided to give it a try the next time I had a cold.
Sure enough, it happened — just a few weeks ago. I know that rest and fluids are the best treatment, but I felt so miserable I really wanted something that would help minimize symptoms while my body worked to get over the bug. I decided to put these to the test.
Started with the DayQuil – doc had recommended taking 1 tablet, waiting 2-3 hours, and then taking the second one so that if I did have a reaction, it wouldn’t be as big an issue. Followed his advice, and noticed a definite improvement after the first tablet, even more after the second. OK, then! This seems to be working. It didn’t make me drowsy, but did help to alleviate some of the aches and stuffiness.
Moving on to NyQuil — doc has said that if I did OK on the daytime version, I could try taking both Nyquil tablets at once. Yeah, not such a good idea for me. I woke up groggy and feeling like I’d been drugged. The second night, I took only 1 NyQuil tablet, and it seemed to work much better.
Bottom line: this product worked better than I thought it would. It definitely helped me to feel better while I was recovering from a bad cold (pretty sure I picked it up on a long flight from Boston to Seattle). Will use again for sure.

First and foremost I want to say when buying this on Amazon, make sure you do your research. The price fluctuates almost daily. The lowest I’ve seen these sell for – which was when I bought them (48 DayQuil, 24 NyQuil) x2 was for $15.15 exact. I’ve had these saved in my shopping cart for future purchases but over the last couple of days I’ve seen this go all the way up to $32.99 (which is currently stands as I write this review) for the same pack I just bought for $15.15 on Feb 19… I understand supply and demand but for those of you looking for this particular brand, if the price isn’t around $15.15 or maybe even under $20 or less, I would tell you to wait or try to find someone else on Amazon selling these.
Now for my review. I want to make note at the time of me making this review, I have not received the product from this listing yet. So I do see a review about “expired” medication, so I am eager to see what mine will say when I receive it. I am solely writing this review at this current time to alert you all of the pricing, but also to review the actual Vicks DayQuil and NyQuil brand. I will provide an “UPDATE” below this entire paragraph when I have received the item and can verify the expiration date. Meanwhile, to my review.. I’ve always relied on Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil and it seems to work very well, which turns out to be my go-to when I start feeling a cold coming on. The key is to start taking it right away – the second you even think your going to get a cold or you’re getting some symptoms. The earlier the better. NyQuil works really good for a sleeping aid as well especially when you are actually sick. The pills are gel type, and are slippery and smooth to go down so you don’t have to worry about that dry chalk feeling down your throat. You take 2 pills every 4 hours. Remember, take these as soon as you even get the slightest hint of a symptom.

You know what to expect. I don’t need to explain too much.
The only reason this is a 4-star review is the price. Just too expensive when there are alternatives. I simply needed something ASAP and this fell in the ‘arrives today’ option if I purchased it within a short amount of time.
