This is a well-made and effective pulse oximeter. You get two readings: heart rate and blood oxygenation level, both easy to read. There’s a third reading: PI (perfusion index), which indicates if there is enough blood flow detected for the device to work. It’s deliberately small since it’s purpose is simply to flag why the device might not be working as expected. There is also a pulse display, and a pulse beep, potentially useful if your heart beat is erratic. There’s a button on the display that when pressed shows you your 12 most recent readings. It comes with a lanyard, which makes it easy to take with you when exercising, a nice added touch. It is duplicative of functions on my fit bit, but is much faster to generate results and easier to read, particularly if you are in motion. The fit bit is good for things like steps, but this unit is far better for heart rate and pulse ox. At its price pint it is definitely a 5-stat product.

i love this!!!!!!! i recently have come down with a rough case of bronchitis and been terrified, struggling to breath. this pulse ox is helping me track my oxygen levels which is helping my anxiety. i loved how this was packaged too and the batteries are included!!! im paralyzed and my hands are limited so the fact that i was able to easily open, assemble and use independently is a real bonus. i have been so weak and everything has been difficult so i was pleasantly surprised at the user friendliness of this pulse ox!!!!!! thank you for making this device so affordable and easy to use. i highly recommend this device.

It’s always nice to have oximeters at home (in addition to thermometers) so that you can monitor a family members blood oxygen levels if they have a respiratory illness! I will also add that these come with batteries in addition to a nice little carry bag and directions. Some don’t come with directions, these do!

I like that this unit has memory and shows the P.I. as well as SPO2 and P.R. … and I like the layout, visibility, and color of its display… and, of course, I like that it turns on and off automatically by detecting the presence or absence of the finger.
But, there are a couple of things that annoy me:
– The batteries (at least the ones included with it) went dead within the first couple weeks of use. (The replacement batteries have lasted longer – so perhaps the supplied batteries were just sub-standard).
– Recently, I’ve noticed that it takes a long time for the readings to show up, and they even tend to come and go while the unit is in use. Sometimes, readings will appear only if the unit is re-positioned or even moved to another finger. It now seems that this problem can be avoided – sometimes at least – by shading the unit from natural light – usually by cupping my other hand around its sides and end. So, I’m unsure whether this is some fault of the unit, or due to infiltration of natural light… or perhaps the sensor has gotten dirty somehow – don’t know.
Anyway, these concerns caused me to drop one star from my rating.
