I’ve been buying Twinlab’s NAC 600mg Since 2015 when I read that it can help with PCOS. I researched brands and found that Twinlab’s NAC didn’t have a strong, regiment odor like other brands had. Well yesterday I got their “new look, same great formula” bottle that has gone from glass to plastic and it does NOT smell like the same great formula. The smell was SO STRONG I accidentally dropped the bottle after opening as I wasn’t expecting that foul odor. Half of the pills spilled out and my 2 year old came over and asked if “I pooted”. (I’m sure you can figure out what she meant by that…) My kitchen smelled awful for several minutes!!! I opened the bottle for my husband and he gagged and said “they haven’t always smelled like that!” I Will be selling a refund as there is no way I can invest these. Hopefully it’s just a bad batch and they really didn’t change their great formula…

My husband has pulmonary fibrosis – his doctor prescribed the prescription version of NAC. Bottom line…it is a liquid, it smells like rotten eggs, and it tastes worse than rotten eggs. We found the Twin Labs brand of pure NAC which is completely acceptable to my husband’s doctor. NAC is currently in clinical trials as a medication for pulmonary fibrosis – my husband’s doctor is heading up the clinical trial. He said results are promising and he is very excited about it. There is no cure for pumonary fibrosis other than a lung transplant. There is no dedicated medication to help those with pulmonary fibrosis. NAC seems to be the best thing out there to at least help the symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis. It helps thin the mucus in the lungs thus making it easier to breathe; it seems to help with the “PF cough” which helps in the day to day lives of these patients. It won’t cure this horrific disease (the prognosis is only 3-5 years) but helps make living with it easier.

Other brands actually add selenium which increases phlegm. This brand only adds items that enhance lung function.
GLOMASTER –
Same as what you find at whole foods or any other health shop. I bought it because I read an article about how it can inhibit symptoms of trichtolomania. It did not work for me but does not mean it wont work for you.
As it says on the back, nothing has been confirmed by FDA.

Don’t love the brand but it’s the correct dosage needed for one of my protocols – which is working. Will buy again.
