My pup has tracheal collapse and has been coughing a lot recently. I am so tired of giving her medications. Tussigon. I have given one dose of this natural herbal remedy it has controlled her cough for over 12 hours. One dose! I gave her a dose this morning at 7:00 and so far no cough and it’s 4:pm. Thank you so much as I was getting worried that I would have take her in for an emergency visit as she was coughing every 5-10 minutes and it was interfering with her quality of life and her sleep… Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. She is a 22lb Pug/Rat Terrier mix so was giving 1/2 tsp for each dose. I am pleased and relieved!!!!

Anyone who is researching this product, please know that the PawHealers website offers way more information. (There are 3 types of trachea support supplements, for example. This particular type may not work for your pet’s situation.)
If anyone takes herbs for themselves, the taste/smell can be quite strong and be a huge deterrent! This isn’t a negative against this product… other reviews stated they use honey/water mixture and a syringe. This was my plan…but once I got the product, I realized I could use capsules. My dog, who is the pickiest little stinker, loves his peanut butter (only one specific kind, of course). I picked up some capsules at my local health food store and use a funnel to fill them up—measuring first per the instructions, of course. Then close them up and give them to him with peanut butter.
Within two days, he’s barking his head off without coughing again. Haven’t even had to use the honey yet to soothe his throat. Worth a shot to see if it works for your baby.
Oh, and yes, the bottle is only half full. But I’m only using 1/4 tsp per dose so it’ll be a while. On their website it says its about 17 doses, but I think I’ll have way more than that.
Update: Used for about two weeks or so and then could tell he was feeling funky so I eased him off it. If his coughing acts up again, I’ll ease him back on it for a while. Doesn’t need to take it every day. Just to note.

I have to just say that this stuff REALLY WORKS! my 15 year old Yorkie has a heart murmur and has been suffering from trachea collapse. He wheezes, gags, has the honking cough literally all the time. Even while sleeping, his breathing was labored, I could see his belly kind of convulsing. He would then wake up gagging and honking. I felt so bad for him. The vet that I’ve had for years, wanted to charge me $1500+ to just do some testing to see what kinds of meds to give him. I’ve already spent tons of money on tests for the heart murmur. There is no cure so spending all kinds of money on tests is ridiculous. For what? to put him on all kinds of expensive meds that just sedate him? So I read some reviews on this and decided to try it out. I saw improvement immediately, and after a couple of weeks, I must say that I am VERY happy with this product. I was giving him a lot of CBD Vet oil, which seemed to help some but is kind of expensive and after so much of it, he would spit some of it up. I have totally stopped giving him the CBD oil and now I only give him this Trachea Support powder mixed with the Hound Honey Syrup (Phlegm-Heat) – I do have to give it to him twice a day (package says up to 3-4 times a day is good) it is kind of sticky as it is honey so I dilute with a tsp of hot water and my dog loves the stuff. I was using a dropper to put the mixture in his mouth and it was making a big mess but now he just licks it up out of a bowl. He still has a little coughing here and there but you can tell the difference. It’s not that wet, loud, honking noise but more of a little cough and he is sleeping through the night with no problems AT ALL. It’s not a cure, there isn’t one, but this is the best remedy I have found so far. I can tell he is much happier and not struggling so much all the time. I am placing my second order ASAP. I don’t give a lot of reviews, but this is important. I researched and saw that this is a huge issue and folks are looking for relief for there beloved pets. I promise you, this stuff really provides relief and makes me feel good knowing I’m making my baby comfortable as possible in his senior years.

At first it started to work but within 1 week it stopped working and his cough began to get worse. So I purchased Hound Honey: Trachea Soother Syrup, and it has been the best one ever. His cough has stopped and only comes back if I haven’t given it to him within the lady 3 or 5 day.
I’m so blessed to have found the Hound Honey: Trachea Soother Syrup. So don’t waste your money on the other dry brand.

I think I’ve discovered the secret to getting a dog to take this stuff. If you try a little taste, you’ll notice a smoky flavor that lingers into a bitter flavor. Mixing it with anything sweet will NOT work. My 10 lb Yorkie literally puked when I tried honey and a syringe. He wouldn’t eat it mixed in his food, or with treats, or with carrots.
BUT as a last resort, I tried sprinkling a bit of Parmesan on his food with the medicine. He was literally growling at the other dogs if they came close. He gobbled it up. You’ll see if you chase it with some Parmesan, it masks the flavor well.
He gets chronic pancreatitis so I looked it up, and aged cheese has very little lactose. Parmesan has low saturated fat too.
It’s not a long term solution but I’m hoping to see some improvement and get by until I can afford the vet.
EDIT: he suddenly stopped eating the cheese mixture. But I tried egg white. Just microwave for 30 seconds, mix it in, done. He loves it to much he trembles while he eats it! It’s high protein and low fat. Win win. Just make sure you remove the yolk because that can hurt the pancreas and cause weight gain which is bad for collapsed trachea.
