I’ve read so many great medical claims about nicotinamide riboside — and reservatrol — so I was very excited to try this product. Along with slowing the aging process, reputedly, there are other benefits. However — and this is a BIG HOWEVER — there are several reputable articles citing that nicotinamide riboside encourages tumor growth and possibly causes cancer in higher doses. The whole issue is currently still undergoing more research. This makes me think twice about how much of this I want to take, despite all the miracle claims. I’m guessing that a smaller dose is probably safe. Just guessing.
On the positive side, I’ve been taking it for more than a month, and do feel an increase in energy and some subtle improvements in skin tone, which is a real bonus. I also find I need less sleep — and I suspect this supplement is responsible for an increase in insomnia I’ve had lately. I just don’t need as much rest now, and this is the only supplement that I added to my routine.
I believe Thorne Research products are among the best, always great quality. However, I should add here that I have no luck communicating with them when I ask questions on their main web site. I have no confidence in getting a straight answer from the company, since they don’t respond.

I am just going by data when writing this review. Off course the long term health benefits and slowing of the ageing is related to taking these products upwards of 2 years. I wear an Apple Watch and meticulously track my heart rate variability, when it’s is higher means body is recovering great and you are primed to take load. I take this first thing in the morning with breakfast, and the data shows that by taking this the HRV jump’s significantly and I cannot attribute to anything else that I have changed.
I train 6-7 times a week and love every bit of it and this seems to have some effect on my physique and HRV. Now another data point I wish to talk about is when I fell sick, the HRV was down in the dumps and my recovery scores were zero, off course I started my medicines that the gp gave me which is helping me recover, but upon taking these I have again noticed a jump in HRV recovery at-least two folds in the next hour of taking them.
So for me it’s a tick and I plan on keep taking it for another few hours and maybe update this review then.
How I got on to this is meeting a work colleague who was 43 and looked 22, he just attributed his youth to this,.
PS: I eat very clean & really take care of my body, mind, stress levels etc.

AWESOME supplement. Gives you incredible all-day energy. But the last time I bought it on Amazon, I got a bogus bottle. It was a different size bottle with poorly photocopied labeling. The pill looked completely different too. Can’t send back because it’s a supplement 🙁 Watch out for the seller “Charming Turtle”. That’s the one that sent me the fake pills. If this happens again, I’m buying directly from Thorne and skipping Amazon for this supplement. I left a seller review. Hopefully Amazon bans them.
