This collagen really did make a difference for my hair and skin! I have very fine hair, and since going through a very stressful time a few years ago it had never returned to its original density. I have been using Thorne for a month and my hair is so bouncy! I live in SoCal, so dry skin is always an issue and the change in hydration is noticeable. I am not a huge fan of flavoured powders, and I could definitely go without the added sugar, but the flavour is not unpleasant and the results are so great I will live with it. Yes, it is pricey, if you do the math it’s almost $2/day but there is no comparison between this product and cheaper ones (I used NeoCollagen for years and the improvement in my hair quality was minimal)

I was using Vital Proteins collagen powder with good results but my Physical therapist swears by Thorne products so I switched to this. It isn’t helping. Because its so sweet, I can’t stomach it. Vital Proteins had no taste. I used it in my coffee. I have to mix this in a water bottle and choke it down. It might be a good collagen but not when I don’t take it regularly due to taste. I am finally giving up and throwing the remainder away. I will rebuy VP.

I’ve been taking this daily for 30 days now and have just re-ordered (doing auto-ship now). I don’t suffer from regular joint pain so I can’t comment on that but my fingernails are growing like crazy. I am committed to taking this for 6 months in order to evaluate a full and complete grow out cycle of my nails, but so far it’s extremely promising. They have not grown at this rate since I was pregnant and on prenatals. I’m also already seeing a softening of a firm ridge on my thumb nail that endured traumatic damage several years ago (slammed car door shut on my thumb, damaged nerve at nail bed). I have also noticed a softening of a deep wrinkle I have between my eyes (the area of the 11’s for those who use botox ) and my overall redness from my rosacea is much less prevalent- skin tone is more even when I wake up in the morning rather than blotchy (disclosure- my rosacea is not severe and is an underlying redness across my cheeks and nose).
The taste is fine. I dilute in at least 12 oz of water. There is an underlying gelatin scent (think jello) but I don’t find it bothersome. I find the flavor much better than I expected. Diluting it down remedies the sweetness that many are complaining about IMO. I chose Thorne because my doctor highly recommends this brands range of supplements for quality and efficacy. The quality of this collagen appears to be on par with other supplements in their range I have taken.

So I’m here to comment on the taste because it seems to be quite controversial. I do feel my skin looks better in a short period of time but I’m not sure if it has to do with my cycle so I’ll leave it for later to make a verdict. But for the taste.. it’s peachy and i see in the ingredient table that it has peach extraction. But it also added artificial sweeteners. So yes it does taste a bit unnecessarily too sweet and sour/tangy at the same time, but it’s not entirely repelling. I used to add it to smoothies, but I find it doesn’t blend well with other flavors. The best to do for me is to simply add it to plain milk and turn on my hand blender. It’ll taste nice and creamy, and will not overpower other flavors. I do hope Thorne can consider a version with no sweeteners, and no tanginess, because we normally add it into other stuff that already has sugar, and not everything goes well with tanginess, e.g. ur coffee. Especially with sweeteners, you are basically forced to drink artificially sweetened stuff. It’s not a premade bottled drink, so as consumers, we would really like to retain some flexibility. I would love to see other flavors available too, such as vanilla, but the most important thing is to get rid of the artificial sweeteners please..
