Little goes a long ways! I use this alone under my sunscreen. It is moisturizing enough I don’t need to add moisturizer. It leaves a nice dewy glow.

Better than Vitamin C for my skin, doesn’t smell as much. I actually notice fewer fine lines and more even skin after using it a few days in a row. Noticable results. No irritation.

This serum is designed to be built up to and may be too strong initially for some users. First, my history is one that has used Retin A for 30 years. I currently use the .1% gel, the strongest made. My skin has built up a natural tolerance. This serum is designed to be used in conjunction with a vitamin C, E product. I use the 23% Ordinary Vitamin C. Alone the Vitamin C can easily cause an unpleasant burning/tingling, but when combined with this ferulic acid serum, it is more intense. I alternate nights using Retin A on one night and the C/Ferulic on the other. I do not peel, but I still feel the burn. I use both all over my face and neck. My pores shrank in one week when starting the C/Ferulic program. On all nights I add an eye serum/cream sparingly to maintain hydration there. During the day I use a hyaluronic acid/DMAE/Matrixyl combination. This ferulic acid strength along with the vitamin C and the Retin A I use are all the strongest available and all these have lesser strength versions that can be used to help build up to my combination. There are products that sell for many times the price of this one that only have just .5% Ferulic Acid and maybe 15% Vitamin C. They work, but think of them as very expensive beginner products and this as the end game.

This formula, that combines resveratrol and ferulic acid, is both a powerful antioxidant & anti-aging active. It also helps the effectiveness of your Vitamin C, by aiding skin penetration.
It has a slightly oily consistency. It’s unscented, but it does have a slight scent from the ingredients. To me it smells like when you open your bottle of multivitamins….something similar to that. It’s not a strong scent and I don’t notice it after I apply it. I add about 3-4 drops into my Vitamin C & Vitamin B serums. Just kind of mix them together in my palm and use it on my face, neck and chest.
What I love about it, as with most things from The Ordinary, is the price. When it comes to my skincare I’m looking for the most effective ingredients that have some good science behind them. I need them to be quality ingredients that also don’t cost an obscene amount of money. I like tailoring my skin care to what I need and nothing more. The Ordinary provides that option beautifully with all of their products. I’m not using it with the expectation that it’s going to provide dramatic results or reverse the aging process. It’s something that I’m using as a preventative and to boost the effects of my other skin care heavy hitters.
Anti-aging skin care, I’m realizing, is about prevention, maintenance, stimulation, and repair. If you can build a skin care routine around those 4 things and choose your products accordingly, then you’re heading in the right direction, I think.

I use this product to make my own vitamin c serum with, it last me a pretty good while. I can hold onto one bottle for about 3 months and it does exactly what I need it to! Worth the price and then some!

I have really bad hormonal acne, so otc topical acne products typically don’t work for me and make my skin worse. I have used the Ordinary brand before but a couple years ago when they had only a couple popular products. But after struggling with old ance and new acne, I finally decided to find something that could replace all the creams I was using. After looking, this serum came up and the reviews looked promising. My biggest area of concern is discoloration in my ance from scaring and inflammation. After using this serum for only a few days I was already noticing a huge difference in my skins feeling and appearance. The photos do not do it justice but they were taken only a little over 2 weeks apart. The difference may not seem huge to someone else but for me I feel 1000x more confident in my skin and am not worried about my painful acne or scars.

I’ve been using this product for a long time now and never had any issues. This was my first time buying it from Amazon and my skin immediately turned bright red and started burning. The product had an odd smell compared to when I have purchased it from Ulta. This product is amazing, but do not buy it from Amazon. There is something wrong with this batch!
