    Collagen? Wht the heck is collagen even? yet alone a collagen diet? I certainly didn’t know but after someone recommended needing to understand it more, I picked up this book. This book does an incredible job of laying out exactly what collagen is and how improving your collagen can drastically improve your quality of life. It is no joke! It can change the qualify of your skin, joints, nails and sleep. I literally had no clue. The human body is truly incredible and how we treat it, DOES IT MATTER. I love how informational yet simple the author makes understanding concepts, she does a great job explaining it and also the many benefits. As someone in her early twenties, wait did I say that, ugh, no, i’m not that young, I meant early 30s with a bf in his late 30s, the struggle to stay young is REAAAAAL. This book has us on the right track to feeling better and looking better! THANK YOU! Highly recommend

    I’ve been hearing about how important collagen is as a supplement these days, and I came across this book. I’ve been taking the collagen that Pam recommends, and my girlfriend commented that the pores on my face look smaller, and I’ve noticed that I heal up incredibly quickly from little nicks and cuts.

    Great primer on collagen and reference for folks out there!

    With collagen, gelatin, and bone broth supplements getting so popular these days, it can be hard to believe that these popular supplements aren’t too good to be true. This book lays down both the research and the historical background of this traditional food that is definitely NOT a fad. Collagen, and the animal foods that contain it, are incredibly important components of a nutritionally complete diet, and it’s great to know with confidence that eating things like tendon, poultry skin, and bone-in meats is a delicious way to enjoy a health-promoting food. The recipes are great too – the herbal tea gummies are my favorite!

    My mom always told me that eating the chicken skin was bad for you. Well, now I’ve got a book to tell her she’s wrong! A fascinating read about collagen, this book delves into the benefits of an undersung protein. There’s a lovely roadmap in the introduction that provides some background knowledge (which the first chapter builds on!) and tells you what to expect and when so you can skip around if you please. I really like how simply she explains what collagen is, how it works, and where it’s found. The first three chapters are dedicated to explaining how collagen works, it’s medical history, and why it’s a vital protein. I really appreciated these chapters – not only were they interesting, they also gave me a good amount of background knowledge for the next few chapters. All in all, a thoroughly fascinating read that blends medical knowledge with practical, every day benefits.

    This is a very well written book. Anyone interested in finding out more about collagen and improving your collagen for a better body, this book is for you. Collagen affects hair, skin, joints, finger nails, and even your sleep. The author does an excellent job of explaining collagen, it’s importance and how it works in our body and gives recipes to help boost collagen intake. I learned there are different types of collagen and that collagen is in organs that I would have never guessed. Collagen is just one more important component to being healthy and works together with other vitamins and minerals. This book is another supplement toward healthy eating and living.

    I’m very intrigued by this concept. I know collagen supplements are actually not very new in the popular market, making a splash much like Acai did back a few years ago. People have seemed to ease off those acai bowls and I was just waiting for this to happen with the collagen. However, this book references page after page of studies done with a control group as well. They’re all small samples, and if you know anything about science, it needs to be much larger. But the # of studies that have produced the same results seems to me to add up to larger study that says we CAN affect our collagen production. Certainly the fish oil supplements that were the rage worked for me. Long story short, I’m going to order marine collagen ASAP! I won’t notice results for several weeks but I’m confident I will.

    I have known about collagen (or thought I did) for many years since I purchased many creams that say collagen is a main ingredient. It took The Collagen Diet, written by a registered dietitian nutritionist to help me understand that it is not rubbing collagen on the outside of my body, but eating a collagen rich protein diet, that makes the difference. I was so relieved to understand it is not more nutritional supplements that I needed, but easy and delicious recipes using basic healthy ingredients. One thing I like about this book is it doesn’t jump right to recipes, but gives chapters explaining what protein collagen is and why it is needed to support health and beauty. I found the history of collagen in diets and cultures around the world to be fascinating. You will start to see why you are given jello in the hospital! I can sincerely recommend this book – read it for the information, and then start cooking the great recipes!
