When the water temperature is too hot, the lights flash to let you know. I tested this under the faucet under hot water and it definitely works. We are using it for our grandbaby when he takes his baths. It appears like it is made from quality hard plastic material and should last. We just throw it in the tub when we are making the bath water. It floats and is waterproof. We’ve had this for a couple weeks now and it gets used every day at bath time. It doesn’t have parts that can break off or be a safety hazard. I recommend this product.

I give my baby a bath once a week but it was a pain in the butt trying to figure out the right water temperature for her. This turtle is so nice! I just place it in the tub and it starts reading the temperature right away. I compared it to another thermometer I had in the house and it’s spot on. I love that it can also alert you if the water is too cold or too hot (I am able to set the gauge so I can use it for baby but also for other family members who like it hotter or colder)

I’m very happy with this bath thermometer! First of all, I compared the accuracy against my Thermopen and it is accurate! Second, I really appreciate how an obvious blue light blinks if the water is too cold and a red light blinks if the water is too hot (you also see the temperature on the display). You can set which temperature the red light turns on at, anywhere from 99º-104º. You can also choose between Fahrenheit and Celsius. This thermometer even accurately reads the air temperature, so you can also use it in a baby’s room to make sure the room isn’t too hot or cold. No complaints about this adorable bath thermometer!

I tend to like my bath/shower water really hot but that’s not realistic for infants/toddlers. This thermometer is perfect for the ideal bath temp. My grandson is more comfortable when the bath water doesn’t get above 99 degrees so this helps me when giving him baths at my house. It floats well, and dries out quickly. Accurate and easy to use.

The face on the turtle is cute. But even better are the various features that are explained in the instructions book (hurrah!) that comes along. First thing I did was change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, because that’s the temp numbers I understand. Then I (with instruction book in the other hand) tried to change the upper limits to the temps before the alarm goes off. It’s auto set to 102 F, but I prefer to bath at 103 F, and heck yes, I use it for my bath as well to make sure the water is the optimal temp for me. There is also an alarm for the lower temp setting, which I believe is around 86. But it’s nice that you can customize those things, yeah? There is even a little door for the batteries, which is great, because the other 2 baby bath temp floats I’ve had did not have a seal to them, and then the batteries get wet, and the thing is useless. So kudos to the designer of this item. I would have preferred the seal (you can see all the different animals in the booklet…) but used to have a turtle named Rascal (who looked nothing like this colorful item meant to please babies) but it is very cute in orange, yellow, green and blue. The readout is also clear and easy to read on top of the shell. Worked right out of the box. A+ item. No more guesswork at bath time. Hurrah!
