It works good and accurate but for the price you pay they could at least make the buttons light up for when you use it during the night you can see what buttons to press to choose the right age group. I Always gotta use my flash light on my phone to help me look at it.

This is one of those products where I think “you get what you pay for” is so true. The Braun ear thermometers are very accurate and easy to use. The cheaper versions that I’ve used haven’t been nearly as user friendly or accurate. The only downside to this model I’ve found is that you need to set the age range before every reading. If there was a way to set the age it would be perfect. Still giving 5 stars. Highly recommend.

I’m a family medicine physician.
We needed a personal thermometer at home when caring for our kids, and we replaced a forehead thermometer with this one. The forehead version was simply inaccurate – it gave too much variation from minute-to-minute, and sometimes read temperatures over 105, which I knew weren’t accurate. Small children often run high temperatures into the 103-104 range in the evenings when fevers tend to be at their highest, but a reasonably playful and active child simply won’t have a temp of 105 or higher, so I lost any confidence in the other one. It also provoked a lot of unnecessary anxiety for my wife.
This version is consistent and appears to be accurate after quite a number of uses, and it’s very easy to use. I would definitely recommend it over the forehead version we had previously, and a reliable and consistent thermometer is worth the money to me.

This ear thermometer is more accurate than my infrared thermometer. It is easy to use on yourself, a child or even sleepy baby. The back lit display is great for middle of the night use. It is as easy as pushing a button and readying the display. My preteen can use it herself successfully.
