The soap itself is nice–it smells good and the poppy seeds in it act as an exfoliant. I also like the minimal packaging, which is more eco-friendly. However, I have still gotten bit by mosquitos even after using the soap earlier that day.

Went on family trip to El Salvador. Gave one to all. Came home with a lot less bites. Family likes the soap as well. So easy to use smells and feels better than mosquito repellent. Will be using on future trips.

So I live in Arizona and surprise, surprise, during the times it rains here we have a gigantic mosquito problem because the little monsters breed as quickly as they can. I bought this soap hoping to make it a little easier to sleep if I smelled less appetizing to the b*stards, and yes, that worked. What I didn’t expect is that the stuff smells wonderful! NOT massively citronella-ish, but wonderfully blended; the grapefruit scent in particular comes through and it’s very light and lively. I *really* like it.
Every year I send my sister a box of mixed handmade soaps that I pick up out here from farmer’s markets as one of her gifts; this is going to be the only one in there that I ordered from Amazon!

I have used 2 bars of this Ain’t Buggin Me soap over the past few months. I would hands-down give the soap 5 stars if it weren’t for the seeds. Took off two stars (considered taking 3!) solely because of the seeds. It seems to work great against mosquitoes, but my spouse and I really, really can’t stand the seeds. If you don’t use a washcloth, the seeds are sharp and uncomfortable on the skin (not “light” or “gentle” exfoliation in my opinion, but maybe my skin is sensitive?). But if you do use a washcloth the seeds get stuck on there sometimes. The seeds also tend to get stuck in and around the outer rim of the drain, and I worry if they will end up clogging my pipes. All-around like it and it has the potential to be great – would absolutely love a version of this that is the exact same minus the pesky seeds!
