This small batch whipped beef tallow came very well packaged. It had a seal and has a hand written best by date (about a year). I really like products like this because you can tell the business puts a lot of time and effort into their product. The tallow was nice and whipped so I didn’t have any shipping issues but the weather is a bit cooler right now. May want to be careful if ordering in the summer heat. There is not a strong smell one way or another. You can definitely tell it’s made with beef tallow but it’s not bad in my opinion. I got the Horizon scent. Now as for how it moisturizes? If you work with your hands outside in the elements or with a lot of cardboard, or you tend to have super dry feet, this is the stuff for you!! It goes on smoothly and does have a little bit of a greasy feel to it, which is to be expected. I probably wouldn’t use this for my face unless it was chapped but in just once use on my feet there was a noticeable difference. I put this one and then put some socks over it to just let it absorb. It also made my hands crazy soft. Be aware a little goes a very long way! Would be a great gift for anyone who struggles with cracked or chapped hands or feet. Looks and feels high end for sure. It may seem a bit pricey for the size but again, you don’t need much and this is not to replace an everyday lotion, but more intensive hydration when needed. Will be adding this to my routine, especially in the winter.
Customer Review –
There are a lot of things I love about this product. I love that it’s a rich and creamy moisturizer that’s great for your skin. I love that it’s made from a small business that is transparent with all of its ingredients. I love that it’s organic and there are no chemicals added. I will mention the scent is a little strong but I’ve been using this on my hands because my hands get extremely dry during the colder months and after a few minutes the scent kind of dissipates. I’m sure it could use this moisturizer everywhere else in my body but for the most part I’m just sticking with my hands and my feet and I’m really happy with the way that it’s helping me retain moisture and the two parts of my body that get extremely dry during the colder months. It’s a very earthy scent so I like that for the most part but I can see how some people would find it very strong.

My Bad !

This is the “Horizon” scent of whipped tallow which is a combination of “cedar, sweet, floral, and fresh”. I think this stuff smells great. I’ve used beef tallow products a few times and this is the best smelling one that I’ve used. I can detect the cedar and sweet parts for sure, the floral not so much. The tallow is whipped so it is very light. It’s about the texture of a scoop of whipped butter from a steakhouse. It absorbed very easily into my skin and didn’t leave any residue. My skin felt soft and moisturized afterward. No side effects noted. The jar indicates that this expires in Sept 2025.

I am new to the beef tallow craze so this was my first time testing it. I have to be honest and say I don’t think beef tallow is for me despite the benefits. I find the grittiness and the way it sits on my skin just makes me feel like I want to take it off. I am very particular on what moisturizers I can tolerate on my skin with sensitive, acne prone and dry skin so take that with a grain of salt if that isn’t you.
What I do love about this beef tallow is that it comes from a transparent Canadian small business and that I actually know where it’s coming from. I have used another product from this brand and I was very impressed by it and the integrity they seem to have a small business.
That aside, the fragrance is nice but a bit much for something I want on my face. I have found the best use for this beef tallow to be after a shower but once completely dry to target some drier spots. Despite my apprehension on my face I have not seen any negative reactions on my body using it. I will say you’ll want to let it soak in and do it’s thing for a bit before putting on any clothing that might get impacted by it.

it smells like thai coconut soup.
i love they used a safety seal, especially after that door dash driver got caught spitting in that kids drink.
it was wrapped well in bubble wrap.
it is greasy. you only need a small amount. i used a pea sized amount for my hands and woooh it really goes far.
there are other scents to it not just the thai coconutness. there’s also some type of lemon grass… once scent i couldn’t place. i can smell it after applied but not if i sniff the jar. but after some time i think it has a similar scent that mecca balm has.
it says you can use this all over, basically. even your face. but i’m not too sure about that because the skin soaks this stuff up slowly. perfect for impending winter at bay.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with a beef tallow face cream and especially wasn’t expecting it to smell so wonderful! Not like beef at all but a light citrusy scent that is very pleasing. I am super happy with it as it smells wonderful and feels great on my skin. I did take off a star though for 2 reasons one being that the jar was not sealed and the other for the lid not being on tightly. Being made from tallow I think it got warm at some point and as the lid was slightly loose the the side and jar arrived greasy and once opened I noticed that while creamy and more solid on the one side of the jar the other side looks more soupy. So that was disappointing and makes me a little hesitant to use it although I did test it out and the feel and smell makes me want to use it. I just feel the jars should be sealed for safety reasons as while I tried or tested it I’m a little leery about using it. Even if the jar is not sealed (and being that this is a tallow and will melt in warm or heated conditions a seal is a great idea as well as the safety factor) at least a sticker attached to the lid and jar would let you know if it was tampered with. So while it doesn’t have a safety seal I can’t really recommend it however I will say it smells delightful and is nice and creamy in texture.

I was a bit on the fence on trying beef tallow cream which is basically beef fat at first. But, my curiosity leads me to try it at least once. I am glad to say I am grateful to try and love it. This product smells great. The geranium and frankincense oils smell so calming and soothing to the senses. The tallow and coconut oil are so moisturizing to the skin. Skin feels so smooth and soft after use. Love this product. Highly recommended.

Haven’t decided yet if whipped tallow is a newfound great moisturizer or just the current fad, but I did want to try this. Came all wrapped up in bubble wrap. The cream’s in a glass jar with a metal lid. There was just a thin strip of tape holding the lid on. The jar leaked a tiny bit and all the cream was on one side of the jar from being on its side during its journey to me. It’s organic whipped tallow and I got the aurora scent with organic coconut oil plus geranium and frankincense oils. If I smell the open jar close up, it smells like meat underneath strong essential oil fragrance. It has only four ingredients that I feel are quality. My skin is sensitive to many things but so far this causes me absolutely no problems. I’m adjusting to the fact that I’m putting animal fat on my skin. I used it before bedtime on a dry spot on my face and on a dry spot on my hand. The scent is really too strong to use on my face. However, it did moisturize that chronically dry facial spot really, really well. I so need an excellent moisturizer for this winter to use at night because my skin gets so dry. I think this will be very good for my hands. It is kind of pricey for the amount but I’m glad I’ve got it.

I ordered the Aurora scent option. When this arrived, I opened it up and was surprised that it was a liquid! I could tip the jar and it would have poured out, whereas every other tallow product I have used has been more of a balm/cream form—it was definitely not what I was expecting. I let it sit for several days and it did firm up some (no longer pourable) but it was still more liquid-y than I would have liked. The crème felt pretty greasy when first applied to my skin, but after it had a chance to absorb in, the skin was fairly soft afterwards. This jar was sealed only with a little piece of tape connecting the lid to the jar (no inside liner, no plastic seal over the lid). Considering how liquid-y this crème was during transit, I think that is a major problem because the lid was not fully screwed on (there is about half an inch difference between where the tape is when the lid is fully screwed and where the tape was during transit). That is a leaky mess waiting to happen. I was a little disappointed by the scent. The description had said “Auroa-earthy, woodsy, citrus, calming”. There is no citrus oil in the ingredients list and I definitely don’t find the scent calming. The only scent oils listed are geranium and frankincense (I think the geranium is the dominant scent since the crème smells a bit floral), which I personally don’t find to be a good pairing with the natural beef scent of the tallow. This came in an amber colored glass jar. Per the jar, this is handmade in Vancouver, Canada and has a best by date of 9/2025 (so a little less than a year). There is an “organic” icon with a maple leaf on it, but I did not notice anywhere on the jar that indicates an organic certifier.
