Used it on my terribly dry cracked feet. Worked well on my heels, sides of feet, and the balls of my feet. Used it nightly and after 3 nights I could see a major difference. Will need to probably continue using 2 to 3 times a week. The roll on was great for applying.

I love this stuff. Doesn’t smell so great (kind of a sulphury, waxy sort of smell), but it’s not that bad and it’s worth it. I live in a really dry climate and sometimes get cracks in the skin of my hands/fingers, and this works great for those because it’s so thick. It’s easy to apply to areas that are more prone to dryness and wrinkling, and seems to really help. Sounds weird, but I also use it on my eyebrows sometimes. I just apply a sort of thick layer and leave it on overnight, and it just seems to make them behave better.

I’ve used this for years and didn’t even know it came in travel size!! This is perfect for travel and even for not taking up room on the bedside table. It really works in really hard and dry skin.

I work at a funeral home and am constantly washing my hands which makes them chap and crack. I use this product almost every night. It actually helps heal cracks and the scent is not overpowering. I have used the product for several years and wouldn’t be without it.

I had to laugh when I saw the review that said it smells like an old shoe. It does! It doesn’t matter what scent you choose this noxious smell comes through. Beeswax does not smell like that so i wonder if it is the lanolin. There’s no need for lanolin because beeswax softens and protects and heals.
I chose the tube style because it is handy when i just want to soften my knuckles but leave my hands dry.
It is a little sticky at first but rubs in well and is not greasy. I have tried other products but have returned to this one because it works.

I have bought the small, unscented, so many times, and it makes the most fantastic lip balm. It is also perfect for a little kids, especially at night, who lick their lips in the winter and end up with a chapped ring. This is about five times the diameter of a Chapstick which makes it easy to put on; you can do it without even looking. The best part it actually heals and does the job, with no funky smell or taste.

With the increase of hand washing due to COVID and the cold weather, my fingers started to crack and bleed. It hurt and was annoying. I wanted an ointment that would heal it but not leave me greasy. Surgeon’s skin did the trick. It healed my cracks quickly and softened my hands! The only negative is that it is pretty expensive, but a little goes a long way. As long as you use it in smaller areas (not a moisturizer for legs) it lasts forever. My son also gets really chapped lips, where they peel and bleed. We just put a little on our finger and rub it on his lips before bed and he wakes up as good as new. He calls it hand chapstick because it looks and feels exactly like a tube of chapstick. Truly amazing!

  8. Positive Thinker

I’ve used Surgeon’s Skin Secret for years to prevent chapped lips. Moisture, especially licking the lips, causes lip chapping, and this product locks in the natural oils while forming a protective layer on the delicate skin of the lips. The product’s denseness offers better protection that lasts longer than the usual lip balm products.

I first heard about SSS on a TV shopping channel and purchased it in the small jars before the twist-up was available.

The last purchase, the twist-up version was the only one available and it seemed that version would be fine for direct application to lips.

Alas, not only did it not apply easily, it soon began to develop spots of various colors that appeared to be mold and had to be discarded with most of the product unused.

Perhaps it may be worth considering producing a little softer, perhaps flavored, version for use on the lips, similar to the size of, yet superior to, chap-stick.

In the meantime, I’m going back to the 1-ounce jars, (which I give 5 stars) now thankfully available again. Just wash hands and with the top side of the fingernail, scrape a very small bit off the top, and apply.
