Since starting these vitamins, my energy levels have greatly improved. I no longer feel the need to nap during the day and i wake up feeling refreshed. I will continue to take these if/when i get pregnant and afterwards!
Back story –
I am a 30 y/o female and was suggested by my pcp and gyno to start taking prenatal to prepare my body for having a child (not trying to conceive at the moment). I have the MTHFR genetic mutation and my body has a difficult time breaking down folic acid, so i have been on the hunt for a prenatal with methyl-folate.

I have been buying this product for over a year now and can honestly say I love it!
Easy to swallow, only 1 pill a day! Can’t get better than this! I highly recommend for those that may be pregnant and have a sensitivity to smells as this doesn’t smell at all!!

I’m glad I did not listen to most of these reviews. At first I was nervous because a lot of people said they’re hard to swallow, they smell bad, and taste horrible. I personally have to disagree. Even though they’re horse pills, surprisingly they’re easy to swallow. Coming from someone who has always been scared to take pills. Not sure how others drink pills but I take a sip of water or juice and move the pill all the way towards the back of my throat before trying to swallow it and it doesn’t hurt. The smell is not that bad, I’ve smelled way worse supplements. The taste is very mild. I taste the hint of vanilla when I take with water, but i usually drink with citrus juice. I take it at night because it does make me slightly nauseous but I’ve never thrown up from it so it’s bearable. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and happy with the ingredients.

While being pregnant I’ve been SO sensitive to smells and certain tastes. This prenatal has great ingredients but makes me gag from the smell and I can’t get it down! Just something to be aware of if you also are sensitive like I’ve been!

I chose these due to the vitamin and folate content. Immediately I had issues taking this daily because the taste is awful and, let’s be honest, my pregnancy senses and gag reflex are heightened as it is. It came to the point where I’d dread taking my vitamins daily because of this one and even reluctantly skipped a dose or two because the gag would be bad enough some days and I knew this guy would send me over the edge. After two months I had to switch, just couldn’t handle the taste any longer. Perhaps this was just my personal experience but others whom aren’t pregnant have smelled this vitamin in my travel pill bottle or in my hand and were slightly disgusted. Great for getting all your vitamins minus DHA (because it contains none), horrible for 1st trimester mamas, especially, who are already on the queezy side. Sorry Honest.

I had been taking another brand of prenatal vitamin that I really liked, but I hated taking multiple pills a day and it lacked choline. This vitamin has choline and a really good mix of other vitamins and minerals. It also recommends just one pill a day, which is great BUT the pill is huge, dry, and chalky. It always triggers my gag reflex no matter how much water I drink before or after. I’ve tried taking it with food, but it tastes so awful I can’t swallow it. SO the answer to this problem is to break it into 2-3 pieces, hold your nose and chuck it back with lots of water and ideally your favorite gummy candy right afterward to kill the vitamin taste. Don’t get me wrong, I eat unusual foods, I love green juices, I eschew added sugars. But this is a tough taste to get out of your mouth.

As a dietitian I did A LOT of research behind which prenatal I wanted to take for my pregnancy and this is the one I landed with. Yes the pills are large but I’m glad I only have to take one instead of two (like other prenatals). Also it’s affordable with all the essential nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy. (Could use more choline IMO) I’ve tasted and smelt other prenatals that literally had me gagging, this one does not do that at all. When taken with water there is a slight vanilla aftertaste, which was a pleasant surprise after the fishy foul aftertaste from my other prenatals. The aftertaste can be masked with orange or any citrus juice, which also helps enhance the absorption of iron (which is at 100% of Daily Value and ideal since pregnancy is a risk factor for iron deficiency anemia) Always check with your doctor to make sure you don’t overload on iron which can be toxic (but rare!). Honest Prenatals are now the supplements I recommend to my clients.
