Dont ever buy crap supplements in supermarkets. Life Extension supplements are superior. I have been taking them for almost 20 years. Tho only bad thing about getting them from Amazon is you don’t get the monthly magazine from Life Extension if you are not a LF member. The magazine is cutting edge on how to live longer.

Both my Maine Coons have one gene for hypocardiomyopathy, which means that next year, when they are nine, the disease may show up. I have been giving them Vitamin E (dry dl’alpha-tocopherols), L-Taurine, Omega-3, CoQ10, since they were six months old, in the hope that the disease will just forget to appear. I don’t know, of course, what will happen, but, right now, the older one has no sign of heart murmur (rated at 4) for the first four years of his life. It disappeared just before his fourth birthday. Not only that, he began having cat fits after the murmur went away, and making huge leaps, so I think his health has actually improved tremendously, but I am waiting. His younger brother (7 months younger) has been given a test, according to which he is supposed never to have heart problems. Again, next year’s scans will tell. At any rate, the CoQ10 has given them extremely healthy lives for the first 8 years. Their older house mate – 10 1/2, is also on the CoQ10, and she has enormous stamina. She leaps from one place to another, and no one would ever guess her age. I couldn’t be happier with her health.
Although this product is excellent for most people and my cats, I can’t take it because it stimilates hormone production which, in turn, enlarges estrogen-fed cysts and tumors.

I had been having problems with my heart for a few months. It beat too hard, sometimes even keeping me awake at night. I decided to try this product before going to see a doctor as I truly hesitate to be put on some heart medication for the rest of my life and i am distrustful of the medical field in general for numerous reasons. Anyway, there must have been something in this product that my heart needed very badly because the problem stopped completely after just a few days of taking it, which i have been for a couple months now, and have not had an issue since.

According to research, our bodies produce less CoQ10 as we age. This is something that is required for energy cell growth, and maintenance. It also functions as an antioxidant, witch helps to prevent cancer, and supports the major organs. Although I can’t personally attest to the fact that it has made any impact on the way that I feel after having used it for over a year, I still believe that it is a necessary supplement. The Life Extension CoQ10 is the Ubiquinol form that is more readily used by our bodies, and I believe that Live Extension produces very high quality supplements. I have talked to their counselors and they seem to be very knowledgeable.
Depending on your age, you may need to take two of these every day or one of the 200 mg softgels also offered on Amazon.

Previous to taking ubiquinol, I was taking CoQ10 by Natural Factors. Someone recommended I switch to ubiquinol because I’m over 40 and CoQ10 is harder to assimilate. From what I understand, most companies purchase CoQ10 and Ubiquinol from Kaneka so there appears to be very little difference between brands. After doing a little online research, I chose LifeExtension because they add shilajit to their formulation to increase absorption. I take it after breakfast (usually an omelet) along with Carlson fish oil for greater absorption. It seemed like I feel a little more energy and clarity after taking ubiquinol. I never noticed that with the CoQ10. This may or may not be a placebo effect. Regardless, with all the health benefits of ubiquinol, I’ll continue to take it. And Amazon offered the lowest price.

I got the Gel CoQ10 because I heard it was good for kidney functions and my kidneys are near the point of dialysis and of course I like to stay away from that as long as possible. After taking the Gel CoQ10 for a few weeks my blood test got slightly better and when later I ran out and stopped taking it for a while my blood test got worst again so I went back on the Gel CoQ10 and my kidney results got slightly better again. This may be a coincidence and I don’t think this is a cure for anything but my doctors at John Hopkins say its not hurting anything and I’m and my kidneys are hanging on longer than they should have so to keep doing what ever I’m doing. So I include Gel CoQ10 in my diet and exercise plan and if it just buys me a few months to enjoy the Summer and travel without dialysis or just buy me peace of mind it’s a very small price to pay. For that reason it earned 5 stars in my book.
