I’ve read about the synergy between Vitamin D and K2 and decided to add K2 to my daily supplements. This formulation from KAL is a one-capsule daily dose that is easy to swallow and doesn’t have any aftertaste. The listed price of $15.99 for a 30-day supply is comparable to many formulations that include Vitamin D as well as K2. I already had a huge, big box membership store bottle of D3 to use up, but will probably opt for the D3 & K2 combo with my next purchase.

I like the idea behind this product, and I do believe that it’s superior in delivering Vitamin K-2 to the bones. That’s because they wrap the Vitamin K-2 in the Liposomes, and it protects the molecules as they travel down the digestive tract. Once they reach the small intestine the liposomal coating is then digested, and the K-2 absorbed.
It sounds great. Does it really work that way in reality? I don’t know.
I am hopeful, since I do have a few bone issues from old injuries, etc. My issue is that this stuff is quite pricey, and you are only getting 30 caps. True, that’s a 30 day supply (recommended daily dose is one per day), but it’s still on the expensive side for me.
I’ve been taking K-2 for several years, and I’m happy with it. I wanted to try something new, and I’ll have to reserve judgement for when I finish the bottle. I’m not expecting miracles, however.

I like to take Vitamin K with my Vitamin D supplement, but sometimes it can be difficult to find in the right amount. This supplement delivers 100mcg. 100-125mcg is good for the amount of vitamin D (5,000 IU) per day that I take.
I do recommend you talk to your doctor before taking Vitamin K as it can interfere with blood clotting. This is one of those supplements that your PCP needs to know you are taking. If you already eat enough foods with vitamin K, then you probably do not need this supplement.
KAL is a good brand. I haven’t researched Vitamin K in the liposomal form, but it could increase the bioavailability because it is a fat soluble vitamin.

KAL Vitamins is a Utah-based supplement company that has been in business since 1932, founded by Chester Weldon. Their website says, “Unlike many other companies, we manufacture almost all our own products and have our own state-of-the-art lab, complete with highly trained staff. We not only manage the process from beginning to end, we also have the ability to thoroughly test and screen raw ingredients.” I didn’t see a ‘Made in USA’ indicator on the label, but it sounds like they would qualify to display one. Some of their products are carried in physical stores in addition to online.
The K2 bottle I received in Feb 2024 had an expiration date of Nov 2025, printed on the bottom of the bottle. It had a plastic seal around the outside of the lid and a peel-off seal inside. The 100 mcg dosage of MK-7 K2 is comparable to other brands my family has used before. The label says it is vegan, gluten-free, GMP certified, lab verified, and made without soy.

Notice: I’m not a doctor or dietician – please consult your doctor if you have questions or concerns about this supplement.
Excellent value for Vitamin K MK-7 (longer half-life than MK-4) and should provide better bioavailability as it is liposomal!
I take this at the same time I take my oil-based supplements like Fish oil and Vitamin D.
Will re-order!

Shorter Review:
What I really like about this product is that it’s thoughtfully formulated to enhance absorption, and that it’s made by KAL, a company with a 90+ year track record that’s transparent about who they are and that seems to make quality products. This 100 mcg dose will likely not be enough for my post-menopausal needs, but it might have been perfect for a somewhat younger me! (Don’t wait for that bad Bone Scan to take care of yourself!)
Here’s Why I think this is a Safe, Well Formulated Product:
Transparency: The KAL Brand was founded in 1932 by Chester Weldon, and they claim to have pioneered the first multivitamin. Currently KAL is owned by Nutraceutical.com, which has a detailed web page with information about KAL supplements. KAL also has a it’s own detailed web page. I just wish I knew what KAL stood for!
Accountability: KAL claims that they manufacture most of their own products and that they have their own, well staffed lab. They claim to manage the (manufacturing?) process and say that they “have the ability” to test raw ingredients. They claim to partner with superior suppliers that they’ve vetted over the decades. KAl boasts a 60-Day-Money-Back Guarantee. Most importantly, they Claim their products are made in their own GMP certified facility and tested in their own state of the art lab in Utah.
QUALITY: Small, easy to swallow capsules in a professionally produced container. These capsules have a very mild scent. They claim that their K2 vitamin supplement is designed to support healthy calcium deposition, so that calcium is more likely to end up in the bones and not in other places where it’s not needed. This 100 mcg liposomal preparation is said to be more easily absorbed than regular vitamin K.
FINAL THOUGHTS: If I were younger, this 100 mcg of liposomal vitamin K would likely be just the ticket to support my bone health. Because I’m post-menopausal and already have some mild osteoporosis, I’ve been looking at studies that suggest I likely would benefit from much higher doses of vitamin K (as in 45 mg vs this supplement’s 100 mcg), but if this is the strength you’re looking for I personally would feel very comfortable buying this thoughtful formulation from a company with a stellar 90+ year track record.

This is a great supplement to get all your needed servings for K2. It is great in addition to vitamin D.

After learning the importance of taking Vitamin K2 along with D3, I’m happy to be able to try this KAL Liposomal vitamin K2 which is important for bone and heart health. KAL D3 contains 100 mcg per capsule. K2 dosage depends on how much Vitamin D3 is taken. The best ratio of vitamin D3 to K2 is 1000:10. A good radio when taking one tablet of KAL K2 is 10,000 IU’s of D3.
