This is a high quality omega 3 supplement with a good blend of EPA and DHA omega 3 fatty acids. The capsules are about the standard size for fish oil and they are easy to swallow. For me they have no after taste and they digest easily. This is also a great value for 200 capsules, which will last me for more than 6 months. It would be great if they added some type of third party testing for quality assurance, but overall I’ve been very pleased with this omega 3 fish oil supplement and I would definitely recommend it.

These aren’t huge pills, so they’re easy enough to swallow, but when you open the bottle, it smells like you open a jar of really strong fish food.

I usually use the Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega (the top of the line). Some brands have a very little concentration of Omega 3’s–as with all vitamins you must look at the grams or milligrams you are getting per pill and per dosage. Two of these gives 1000 milligrams of EPA and DHA compared to 1100 of the Nordic for 2 pills which is considered a very high potency. That convinces me this brand is serious about offering a good quality product and not cutting corners by giving a small dosage. The Nordic brand is giving your the nutrition information for 2 pills while this brand gives the nutrition info for one pill–so essentially the pills from both brands have virtually the same amount. A little confusing but basically you need to know how many pills make up “a dose” so you can calculate what you are getting per pill. Some pills for example can advertise 5000 mg of vitamin C which sounds like a lot but then you read that you need 3 pills to make up a dose. I had no trouble swallowing them although omega 3 pills generally are on the bigger side. Glad to have this alternative option—Omega 3’s in general are super important to supplement for many health benefits so its on my daily list! Again, in terms of value and cost, you definitely need to look carefully at how much you are getting per pill and how many pills in the bottle, not just the mg advertised on the bottles.

This product arrived well-sealed and fresh, with an expiration date of Sept 2027. It smells like good-quality fish oil capsules typically smell. The ingredients on the label are EPA 300mg and DHA 200mg per softgel with additional ingredients of Gelatin, Glycerin, Purified Water, & Mixed Tocopherol. Contains Anchovy. For me, it does not cause any fishy burps after taking, which is great.
I wish the company would provide more information about where the fish are from and where this supplement is manufactured. There is no information on the label and their website only says, “The products in our catalog, including the PureFormulas brand products, are manufactured by third party vendors.” That’s mighty vague.

The last several years, I’ve been rotating between fish oil and algae oil for my daily omega-3 consumption. In prior years, I had been a loyal customer of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega (sourced from fish oil) and this product from Pure Formulas is a reminder of the existence of many quality alternatives. A lot of different opinions exist as to how much and at what ratio EPA and DHA should be consumed daily, so omega-3 supplements are typically differentiated by these attributes, as well as the sources and how these are processed. The aforementioned Nordic Naturals product uses a 1.44:1 EPA to DHA ratio, and this product from Pure Formulas uses a very similar 1.5:1 EPA to DHA ratio. EPA provides anti-inflammatory effects, and DHA boosts brain health. Put differently, EPA is considered more of a “neck-down” omega-3 and DHA is considered more of a “neck-up” omega-3. When choosing an omega-3 product, also always remember to pay attention to the number of capsules required to provide the amount of EPA and DHA shown in the supplement facts. The main reason this product caught my attention is because I’ve had decent experiences with other Pure Formulas products in the past. However, I would also describe this product as largely a commodity fish oil supplement because the volumes of EPA and DHA provided are less than half that of the premium omega-3 supplements I’ve used, despite having an official serving size of one softgel, and because it likely provides the ethyl ester (EE) form of omega-3 instead of its higher quality re-esterified triglyceride (rTG) or TG forms. Because omega-3 products vary so much, and there’s some uncertainty as to which are truly the best, I rotate between different brands and omega-3 forms when it comes to fish oil.

I tend to rotate my fish oil supplements, switching products once the bottle is empty. My criteria are: can I swallow it and am I going to be burping fish all morning. This meets my criteria. It is a large gel capsule, but it’s not the biggest in the category. And no fish burps so far.

There is a chance that you may have cramps and soft bowel movements when you first start taking this type of supplements, and I suggest you take one a day or even every other day till you get used to it. I had a strong reaction and cramped with some diarrhea at first but that was what I expected, and it only lasted a brief time so now all is good.
This type of supplement is a very good thing to help your body fulfill its functions with the nutrition that our modern diets seem to lack or because of medications and illnesses the body has a greater need for
I’m relatively certain that this is making a difference in my body in the 30 days I have been taking it. My skin is more supple, and my eyes feel less dry are 2 of the things that I attribute to this supplement.

High quality Omega 3 Supplement that’s Non GMO. With EPA & DHA Omega 3 Fatty Acids.
Pills are fairly easy to swallow, no aftertaste nor ill affects for me personally.
However I have taken some form of Omega 3 daily for years now. Everyone is diffferent so please listen to your body.
I personally feel these are a great value and I’m very pleased with the continued results.
