This fish oil supplement has a pure, light yellow color, which reflects its high purity. It’s a great source of EPA and DHA, and I’ve noticed enhanced benefits when paired with L-methylfolate. Overall, I haven’t experienced any issues except for a slight burp after taking the pill, which is manageable.

By now everyone should know how important Omega-3’s are to your health. And L-Methylfolate is a bioavailable form of Folic Acid, also known as Folate, a B-9 Vitamin found in dark green leafy vegetables, legumes, and cruciferous vegetables which most people don’t get enough of. Also, known to offset depressive disorders in people who have folate deficiency. So this is an unusual combination but good one. I just can’t find in their listing anything else that can justify their pricing to product supplied especially for only a 90 capsule bottle. When I’m done with this bottle I don’t think I will be reordering this brand.

This tastes and smells like fish oil, like the kind from nature made but far more expensive and not much quality benefit. According to the label it has more Eicosapentaenoic acid at 450mg for one soft gel while the nature made has 500mg for two soft gels, and it has 340mg Docosahexaenoic acid for one soft gel to 500mg for two soft gels of nature made. So in that sense it would be slightly superior but I feel like I couldn’t justify spending the asking price for these unless it became more competitive. This contains 90 soft gels while nature made contains 250 for a lot less money.

I will start taking and time will tell if hopefully I get to see positive effects.

I’m not a doctor and this isn’t medical advice but these high quality EPA and DHA fish oil supplements are as good or better than the prescription fish oil my doctor prescribed. As with many supplements, sometimes it’s hard to tell exactly what it does for you and it’s easier to tell after you use it for a while, stop using it for a while, and then start using it for a while again, and then even more after prolonged continuous use. With high grade fish oil like this however I can feel the quality working in the form of a calm and clear mind, stable mood and increased ability to focus and get work done. I take a lot of supplements for my health, and fish oil is a staple in my daily regimen. i will very likely reorder these.

My review is for the MethylPro Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements – EPA DHA Omega 3 Fatty Acids to Support a Healthy Mood and Cognition – Pairs Well with L-Methylfolate – (90 Capsules)
Welp, I purchased these based upon the description. For some reason, I’ve never purchased any omega 3 fish oil supplements (which I’ve taken for DECADES) that included the POSSIBILITY of contain omega 3 from ANCHOVIES. In fact, this bottle states it can come from a variety of sources. So… the product you get one time may be completely different from your next order? That’s truly bizarre to me!
First of all, I’m allergic to anchovies, so that means this $60 (!!!) supplement has to be given to a friend instead, as I have no way to know if anchovies are one of the different omega 3 fish oil sources.
Second of all, how in the world does this cost $60 for 90 (which, is supposedly a 90 day supply).
Third, they definitely smell fishy, just when opening the container. However, this is pretty typical. I would have to assume they result in the fishy burps that are common to this product (so this is just a comment, not a knock against the product).
BOTTOM LINE: I think the price is wholly unreasonable, but what is unacceptable is that the product is admittedly NOT consistent and you have no idea what the actual source of the fish oil, and this will clearly vary from purchase to purchase

I’ve been cycling through many fish oil supplements, and I am aware that quality oil is more expensive. Is that why the price is so high or is it just a taking advantage of the hype? Not sure, and I don’t have the facilities or other resources to confirm the ingredient quality. That said, it walks and talks like every other fish supp I have tried so it at least has that going for it. The packaging is nice, and the pills are easy to take. I will finish the bottle, but so far I’m not seeing too much difference between anything else.

My rating is based primarily on value, because I’m not disputing any claims made by the manufacturer. Current scientific literature seems to support both the total dosage and blend of EPA/DHA for helping mood. I haven’t noticed any particular change, but I also haven’t been taking it for more than a week; fat-soluble compounds can take time to build up in the body.
There is zero fish odor on opening the bottle, and they weren’t stuck to each other more than a nice thud would dislodge, which is a good sign. I do question that no Vitamin E was included, both because it can help preserve fish oil and because we’ve known for years that Vitamin E supplementation is generally needed when taking fish oil. On the shelf life front, I would recommend refrigerating this as soon as you receive it.
Circling back to value: I will grant that the concentrated nature of this blend means that you only take one pill versus two or three from competitors to receive the same effective dosage. However, those competitors cost proportionately even less, so that doesn’t end up being much of a benefit unless you simply abhor taking pills and are willing to pay a premium to swallow as few as possible. In general, I simply have a hard time recommending a product that costs 67 cents per dose when equivalents can be had for much, much less. The glass bottle (albeit with a poorly printed label that does not inspire confidence) is a quality touch, though. Just not enough to compensate.
