The outer box arrived shrink-wrapped, clearly indicating dates of manufacture and expiration, revealing a shelf-life of 3 years, which is great and reassuring.

The list of things that Nad+ Nicotinamide Riboside can apparently do is quite long. It’s also very important to note what WebMD states about it. For anyone that doesn’t know about WebMD, it’s a website that’s become so ubiquitous that at some point in your life, you’ll go to a Doctor, or a specialist, and be given a print out for what you should do with the WebMD logo printed on it. WebMD states that, “People use nicotinamide riboside for anti-aging effects, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, Alzheimer disease, obesity and many other purposes, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.”
With the important disclaimers out of the way, the reason why I decided to order NAD+ Riboside is largely because my Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is a from of chronic pain. The pain, which began directly after an accident, causes a severe lack of sleep. This lead to a complete change of both my former career as an Art Director and Graphic Designer, to DJing, due to the aforementioned lack of sleep. My schedule is the polar opposite of my previous one, and that of most people in general. These life changes make it more difficult to gain most of the benefits that come from a regular exposure to sun light, and normal sleep cycles. The incredible hospital staff that saved my life began calling me Wolverine, largely because of how quickly my face healed after being hit by a hit and run drunk driver. He also happened to be going the wrong way on a one way street, luckily, my severe facial damage isn’t very noticeable at all, even though there’s a wire in my jaw, a metal plate in my jawline, one on the right side of my nose, and the plates all around my right eye, as well as a plate where my right cheek bone used to be. You’d have to feel the screws and plates yourself to believe that they’re there. That was in 2016, and there’s only so much the body can do to maintain what a healthy lifestyle, which includes not drinking, or smoking, provided. All of these factors have reduced my ability to heal substantially, so finding the right supplements is definitely necessary for me.
Regardless of the scientific evidence, which states that the long term benefits of Nad+ use can’t currently be verified, in my case, prior to taking it, the feeling of being tired and sleep deprived, as well as healing slower, was far more pronounced. Within the last 20 days of taking Nad+ supplements, it caused a few bad shaving related cuts to heal the way they used to, even though the needed rest wasn’t present to account for that. The other benefit is feeling more energetic than before. I tested Nad+ by looking at how my health was before, and how it’s been since taking it. More importantly, all of my other variables have been the same, such as late night working hours, a lack of sleep, and irregular eating schedule. In terms of eating variables, fast food hasn’t been part of my diet. My diet consists largely of chicken and rice, coupled with a salad, and the rare times that my diet includes breakfast, it’s usually scrambled eggs and blueberry waffles. Soda isn’t a part of my diet either, but water and cranberry grape juice definitely is. Working out used to be a part of my life before the accident, but now it’s not, largely because adding an additional potential of a work out injury is too much, when lifting heavy DJ gear can potentially do that. As a result, any health benefits that have been added to my regular routine can clearly be attributed to Nad+. My previous supplement reviews were tested the same way. For example, Biotin was recently added to my daily supplements over a month ago. Prior to taking Biotin, a lack of rest meant that my hair and nail growth slowed to a crawl. After taking Biotin, even with the same irregular sleeping issues, my hair and nails started to grow fairly quickly, and regularly again.
The increased healing times I’ve experienced, in addition to feeling far more energetic, can largely be attributed to taking Nad+ for the last 20 days. That’s enough for me to give this supplement 5 stars.
