Heme iron is the most absorbable and fortifying iron on the market. I have been taking this for a couple of weeks and won’t really know my iron level for a few weeks more but I do feel like I have more energy……….Most days.

My 14 year old son’s multi doesn’t have iron, so I decided to supplement with this. While it doesn’t appear to cause stomach discomfort (he’s non-verbal), it also doesn’t seem to make a difference. Maybe it’s not supposed to. I’m genuinely perplexed, because he doesn’t eat any meat – not my choice, by the way. I’m going to keep giving it to him, though. He still needs the iron.

I’ve previously ordered this product twice before. The price point was reasonable and the product stated that it was third party lab tested. My ferritin level increased in the first 90 days from 12 to 37, so I was happy with the product. During the second 90 days however my ferritin decreased from 37 to 30. My new bottle arrived today and I noticed that the pills this time were pure white, very strange for an iron pill, and completely different than previous coloration. The bottle no longer states that it is third party tested. I attempted to go to the product website listed on the bottle and it is not a valid website. Something very fishy about this product now. I will be requesting a refund.

Heme Iron Polypeptide is a much higher quality iron, so it’s great this brand offers it at a fair price. Unfortunately, the product contains added flax seed, which adds a rancid smell and taste to the capsule. I don’t know why the manufacturer did that, maybe to help the iron absorption, but it’s not a huge deal if you take this with some juice.
Pros: High quality iron supplements at a great price.
Cons: Smell and taste is affected by the added flax seed.

I was hesitant to try taking iron supplements due to getting a bad gut reaction with other iron supplements I have tried in the past.. but this supplement is different.. It is an Iron HEME POLYPEPTIDE.. and it just the iron.. no funky B vitamins for those who have MTHFR methylation issues… There are no fillers in the capsule.. no taste.. I have taken it for over a week now with no gut reactions.. and I have noticed an remarkable decrease in my iron deficiency symptoms.. I would highly recommend giving this supplement a try…
