American Standard’s Black Cohosh is a high quality supplement. It helped her when she’s having hot flushes. My wife is satisfied.
Just let me explain, further. For decades, I’m fully interested in researching, understanding, and using natural supplements, especially those with great quality and potency. However, it takes time to see and measure the full results and benefits of any food supplements, including this one. For this reason, my rating is based on several factors. On immediacy, the supplement may have reaction on me or not, depending on my body’s immunity level and response, which is different to other users. The overall product packaging that contains vital information about the ingredients, processing the content, and quality, or whether the supplement is easy to swallow, the flavor, and value for money are also part of my assessment. My recommendation here should not be taken as a third-party lab test result or medical advice, rather, as an observation of a non-medical user. Prolonged use may cause immunity or increase toxicity level. As such, I’ll leave to the user the discretion to continue using this supplement.

Package arrived in a timely manner and was well packaged. Picked up for the wife. Indicates that this product provides little if any relief..
I’ve been getting hot flashes for years; some women seem to get over them fairly quickly, but mine have set up camp and stayed for the long run. Black coshosh works well for me and I prefer it to taking hormones. I have used a couple different brands over the years but this is my first time trying out black cohosh from American Standard Supplements. It is working just as well for me as the other brands I have used. The dosage on these is slightly higher than the other two brands I have used; the other two brands had 540mg per capsule and these have 650mg per capsule. The listing mentions 1300mg but you may find it helpful to know that 1300mg is the total for two capsules, which leaves a single capsule with 650mg. I take one capsule per day as my doctor advised me that 650 is plenty and any more could be overdoing it. These also contain black pepper, but I am not sure what the benefit of adding that is. The bottle contains 90 capsules so it will last me three months.
So far this American Standard black cohosh is working well to keep my hot flashes to a minimum. I am pleased with it. Know that each capsule contains 650 mg. To get 1300mg advertised, you’ll need to take two capsules, but personally my physician advised me to stick to one capsule per day.
I will definitely order this version of Black Cohosh again. This is the first time I have tried Black Cohosh with Black Pepper extract, so I didn’t know what to expect. The formula I had been using was a lower dosage, and I questioned if it was making any difference.
It can be hard to tell or judge if a supplement is working or not. You really do need to try it for several weeks or several months to truly know if it is effective, and sometimes you even need your doctor to really judge that.
What I noticed is that I had milder and fewer night sweats since taking this for the past week. That took me by surprise! I have made not other adjustments to my diet for usual supplements.
I suggest trying out this formula if your current Black Cohosh formula is not working or doing enough. I don’t think anything will be perfect if you are opting out of HRT (like me), but falling back asleep quicker and more comfortably is so worth it!
I wish I had done a little more research on the recommended dosages for black cohosh before ordering this product. While it seems to be from a reputable company and made from quality ingredients, I am not sure I am comfortable with such high dosages. I need to do more research and consult a medical professional before I would be okay with giving this to anyone in my family. That being said, if you have done your research and are looking for a high concentration of organic black cohosh in combination with organic black pepper, I think you would be very pleased with this particular supplement.
I got this because there are so many health benefits of taking this, besides for lessening the symptoms of Menopause. Black Cohosh is also useful for managing unpredictable periods. It can stimulate menstrual bleeding and ease uterine tension, which reduces cramping during periods. It also strengthens uterine muscle tone. The anti-inflammatory nature of Black Cohosh also makes it useful for sore throats, congestion, and even high blood pressure. It can also work as a vasodilator, reducing the stress on the cardiovascular system and decreasing the chance of blood clots causing strokes or heart attacks. I’ve taken it off and on throughout the years and this brand seems to be fresh. The expiration date is over a year away. The pills are not huge so they are easy to swallow. The price was also not bad for this product. I’ll be getting more.
