This is a great product. I used it on my Chinese Pistache tree, a native tree of the desert southwest. It was “lion tailing” with leaves only at the end of the branch, and I’ve not seen this many leaves in several years. I’d been buying a nursery zinc and could no longer find it locally. This is less expensive and really does a great job. I do wish that there had been directions for use on the package–gleaned information from the reviews section on Amazon. I used 1 tbl. per gallon. –about 5, 2-gallon watering cans was enough for my 20 foot tree.

I bought this for my pecan tree. My pecan tree only produces a significant crop every other year. In 2015, I got almost 100 pounds of pecans. So I would have expected nothing in 2016. I applied this + 8 lbs of 10-10-10 (4 lbs per diameter of tree trunk measured 4 feet from ground — diameter is circumference divided by Pi (3.14)). So in 2016 instead of getting no nuts, I got almost 70 lbs. And this was during a drought! How much was the 10-10-10 versus the zinc? I have no idea. But I’m not giving the treatment in 2017 — freezer is full of pecans!

I’m very pleased with the product so far. I used it in hopes of getting my pecan trees to return to bearing mode. I’m not sure I did everything right, but time will tell. If no pecans, I still can’t assume the zinc sulfate didn’t do its job. It could have been something I did or didn’t do. I won’t know until the fall whether it made a difference. If it works, the squirrels and I will be very pleased — especially the squirrels. I found the best tool available for collecting pecans and for bagging leaves and litter: BagMaster Plastic Bag Holder. Anybody know of a sure-fire squirrel trap? I can keep it busy!

The product is fine. But they need to pack it better for shipping. The interior bag had burst open by the time I received it. The white powder was leaking out of the mailing envelope, which had my postal carrier very worried.

Used on a sheep farm to mix up a roughly 10% Zinc Sulfate solution to treat foot scald in a foot bath. Good quality for the job, very economical. One bag mixes up five gallons worth based on most Extension office recommendations for strength. If you’re only treating a single foot on a single animal, this bag is good for about ten treatments – half a gallon is enough to soak one foot in a small bucket for ten minutes.
