This Alocane spray is fantastic. It arrives in the exact bottle that they show in their listing pictures with a nice locking spray cap. You have to push a button in and rotate the sprayer in order to use it which allows it to lock in place and not spray by accident if you were to ever carry it in a bag.
We did have a family member who got a burn recently from our oven and tried spraying this on it. They said that it was actually a nice calming and soothing kind of relief from the burn. I also often get mosquito bites as they tend to love me and I tried using this on the bites as well, which soothed it pretty well but I ended up having to use some anti-itch cream too.
Overall, great spray that is fantastic for burns and insect bites with a great locking spray cap.
Last time I burned myself (do not forget to put the oven mitts back on before picking up the hot casserole you just took out of the oven) I was running around the house looking for relief, which I did get by hacking a leaf off my aloe plant, but life should be easier, so I ordered this spray to be better prepared next time. No burns at the moment, so I tested it for reaction on my hand (good idea in general to spot test things before you need them) and there was no irritation or problem. The bottle has a neat spray top that locks and unlocks but twisting the top left or right and pressing on a small button. Very clever. It only took about 2 pumps to prime and get the spray to begin coming out. The spray comes out in a stream which is ok, but I’d prefer more of a mist. The expiration is printed on the bottom of the bottle and mine has expiration of 8/2025, so good for a couple years.
This product is super nice to always have on hand, great for first aid kits. I haven’t had the need to personally use this exact bottle on a burn yet, but I have used the same brand before on a burn and was impressed.
The first time I used this product a while back was when I was cooking and got a burn – I was super impressed by the effectiveness of the product and how well it numbed the pain, I believe it lasted a good 3-4 hours after applying.
I did test it out a bit more – and I do really like that it goes on like a liquid spray and dries pretty fast, which is good for people with sensory issues towards products like gels and creams.
I need to try and remember to take it camping, the self sealing cap makes it really easy to throw in a bag on the go. Very portable.
Overall – I really like how this product can be used on kids and adults, the effectiveness, and especially the consistency. I would recommend.
I recently accidentally burned myself making microwave mac n cheese for my toddler. I spilled a good amount of piping hot water on my hands as I was taking it out of the microwave, it was a pretty bad burn. I’m glad I had this on hand because I needed something to dull the pain. I also used ice wrapped in napkin but sometimes ice can make it even more painful as soon as you stop doing it, yet can also get too cold for your skin where it also becomes painful. This gave me the relief I was looking for. It still hurt of course but it wasn’t pulsing in pain every second. This has 4% lidocane which seems effective for a minor burn. The instructions say to apply no more then 3-4 times a day, so make sure to read the label for any warnings. The spray nozzle made it easier to use and was able to cover a good surface of where my burns were.
I believe this products helps with pain however the pump is so hard to push it’s almost impossible to use. The cap doesn’t come off so there is no way to open the bottle and get the liquid out. I hope the company sees this and makes an easier pump and/or a top that you can remove.
I love this stuff. I keep a bottle in the cabinet over my stove because if I get burned, it is almost always in the kitchen. It’s the best thing for a burn. A few weeks ago, my daughter came to get me and she said her hand was hurting. Apparently she had been stung by a wasp. I grabbed the bottle of Alocane and sprayed some on. It gave her immediate relief. The relief was temporary because it turned out the stinger was still in her hand – but it did help. The label does say it provides pain and itch relief from burns, cuts and scrapes, insect bites. There is 4% Lidocaine in it which is a very effective pain killer.
I use a lidocaine cream at times on rashes, insect bites, and hives; basically anything that itches. When I saw the spray I thought this has to be easier than rubbing cream on my skin. The spray is a medium spray, not to misty, and definitely not a spray stream. This will definitely work great if you need it for sunburns, or other types of burns. It didn’t sting, but then I was only using it on areas that itched and were not burnt. The effects of the lidocaine last, for me anyway, approximately 4-6 hours. I really like the self-sealing, locking cap. This will make it much easier to take with us when we travel.
Bought this to use when we step on the occasional red ant pile or get stung by swarming wasps. Used this on myself and my grandson when we wandered into an undiscovered red ant hill today and it quickly subdued the burning pain within seconds. Very happy with this product and you will be too.
