The Source Naturals were really great out of places like the Berkeley Bowl and Rainbow for a long time. Its only in 2018 that Whole Foods has started carrying a vegetarian glucosamine, and Jarrows also broke out with one.
Vegetarian glucosamine goes to joints, usually to the wear points worn out from distance running on me. Years ago, before I became a vegan, the Shellfish glucosamine often went to the wrong part of my body, leaving the pain point unhealed. When I started taking Source Naturals, those pain points were much more directly targeted.
At the start of 2018, when WF started carrying a VG, and when Jarrows developed one, Source Naturals stopped becoming available at the Berkeley Bowl, and Rainbow, where it had been perfect in quality for years.
So I bought some online, from Amazon. These arrived with the seal only attached to the rim at under half the area, and smelled like urine. I’d give them 2 stars for that, but I think they will get over it, and its hard to tell whether it was the shipper or the the source.
The Source Naturals VG has a clearly worded bottle label, stating its fermented uncooked corn. Raw. The Jarrows stuff is cheaper and nice, but its not clearly marked as raw or as from corn, and that makes me nervous.

I have been taking glucosamine for years because of my knees. I was not sure the vegetarian version would work as well, but it has, because I have been taking it for two months and I have had no problems with my knees. Source Naturals also seems to be the most reasonable brand available. Other brands seem to be twice to three times the cost.

I shattered both of my ankle sockets a few years ago and was left with an arthritic condition especially in my left ankle which made walking or being on my feet very painful after a few hours.
I tried this product on the advice of my chiropractor, who said it might not help the pain but it might help prevent further deterioration of my ankle as I grow older.
I began taking it and after about two weeks I began noticing I was having really good days as far as pain was concerned. Then I month passed and I realized I hadn’t had ANY really bad days! Now I can work for 6 hours on my feet and not be limping in pain. This is really huge for me. So yes, I recommend this product!

I’m so grateful that someone else posted the problem with Sorbitol which is an added ingredient to this product!!! I’m allergic to shellfish and for awhile there were few choices for vegetarian glucosomine. I found this Source Naturals version of this product helped a lot with my joint pain, but couldn’t figure out why I kept having problems with diarrhea! Thank goodness I read the reviews of this product on Amazon before reordering last time. I looked up sorbitol online and it is actually used for a stool softener, which I most certainly did not need. I switched to another non-shellfish glucosimine and problem solved! Whew.

After stopping my hormone therapy after 10 years, I began experiencing joint pain, mostly in my knees. As a vegetarian I didn’t want to take regular glucosamine as it is derived from shellfish. I have been taking this for 7 weeks and have noticed no difference. It may work for others who don’t have the same situation as me. You could give it a try.

What more can I say? This supplement works great. I take two per day. I have increased mobility in my painful hips and shoulders, and it has even helped with some food intolerances!

I bought this product mainly for my knees because it’s vegetation and comes in a huge container which is of great value for the money.
