I was skeptical about these dryer balls but I stand corrected. So far after using these for half dozen dryer cycles the static is almost non-existent plus I could swear the clothes feel a little softer surprisingly.

I use 3 right now but might just toss all 6 in and see how it works with more surface area. Our dryer has a moisture sensor in it so I can’t really tell if these help reduce drying time but if they help separate clothes during the cycle it would make sense that the time is reduced a little.

    Highly recommended.

We have used this product for a while now to help reduce our use of harmful chemicals in drier sheets. The wool balls effectively reduce static cling and help to make the clothes softer and less wrinkled. The only downside, which is user error is that they get caught up in the the clothes after they have been dried and then you can lose the balls if they arent returned back to the drier.

We have been using these dryer balls for almost 6 months now. They get the job done and I don’t waste money on dryer sheets. I followed another reviewers advice and washed them before first use. I am not sure they need them though. I have used some essential oil on them but doesn’t seem to make much difference. I will have to try a different kind. 🙂
The dryer balls themselves are super easy- just throw them in wash after wash. I don’t see any lint on any of our clothes.
In terms of reduced drying time- it wasn’t noticeable at first because we tried reducing time by about 10 minutes. We were happy with that. 🙂 However I notice the biggest difference when I dry a kind size comforter which usually took 2 cycles of 70 minutes and then still needed drying under a fan because of wet spots. 1 cycle with the dryer balls and all set- fully dry comforter.

    Definitely recommend! 🙂

These balls have not matted or distorted. The quality is outstanding! If fuss gets on it, it doesn’t get tangled up, it just sits on top for very easy removal. It’s so effective that it’s cut my drying time down and kept my clothes from the dog hair sticking to my clothes. They are soft and slightly bigger than tennis balls. Mine have stayed in the dried and a still preforming their job way above expectation.

I got these just about 8 weeks ago, and I wanted to wait to leave a review until I really made up my mind. I live in an old apartment, and the dryers are from the year 2000. The dryers were the bane of my existence until I got these. Previously, I had to split regular loads into two just to have a shot at some stuff drying, but now everything is always 80%+ dry all together with 3 dryer balls! I layer each wool ball between a layer of clothes when I load the dryer, and I use the other 3 if I’m doing 2 loads at once.

The only tiny cons I have are that they do make a small bit of sound, but not a ton. I live right above the laundry room, but I can only hear a small thudding sound if all is totally silent. The other con is that it took soaking them in woolite, washing on a gentle cycle with regular detergent, and a couple of dryer cycles to get the sheepy smell out, but hey! They’re made of real wool, so I’m not upset!

All in all, I would say they are definitely worth your money and will save you money if you pay per laundry load like me!

I brought jar, echo friendly wool tumble dryer balls after being highly recommended them by one of my friends. I have tried tumble dryer balls in the past but love the fact these ones are organic and cruelty free and come with a free lavender oil that makes the washing smell great, so much so I have cut out the fabric conditioner in my wash but the ultimate change was not having to iron as many clothes as the balls knock out the creases while drying, not having to iron mine and my children’s duvet covers has been a dream ! would make a great gift for any fellow hinchers ! and they are Available on uk prime

I have been disappointed in our large capacity dryer for quite sometime. Clothes may be dry but they are wrinkled; perhaps they run two cycles but are still damp. Even small loads might not be at the best dry state. My friends have been talking about dryer balls……I thought surely it’s a gimmick. They must be still running the dryer on and on. Well, the balls work. The clothes (big loads of clothes, loads of towels or sheets or even combinations) are coming up dry and UNWRINKLED. I also expected to hear the bouncing and banging of the balls as the dryer turned. Didn’t happen. I’m more than pleased. Added benefit…..the clothes are drying FASTER in large loads. Jeans, towels, multiple sheets, are coming out soft, dry, and wrinkle free. This is a winner!

Absolutely Wash These! You won’t regret it.

I couldn’t wait for these to arrive. I’d been coveting them for months. I had a few bottles of essential oils knocking around in my dresser drawer that were about to pass their prime. It was the perfect time to order my very own wool dryer balls and finish off my almost expired bottles of essential oils.

    First impressions:
No amount of essential oil was going to mask the distinct odor of sheep; I was heartbroken. I did a little research (ok… maybe more than a little) and learned that the odor was typical and would fade in time. In time? I wasn’t about to dry load after load waiting for the scent of fleur de fleece to subside. I took a chance and threw them in the washing machine – best idea ever (wish it was mine)! After three washes with hot water and detergent they were significantly better. I was afraid washing them may ruin them, but it didn’t. I made a blend of lemon oil, lavender oil, and a little distilled water in a spray bottle and generously sprayed them before tossing them in the dryer with some towels. Hallelujah! The sheep-stink was gone, but I could barely detect my lavender-lemon blend. I put away the spray bottle and drop by drop I added the oils directly to the wool balls. To be exact, 9 drops lavender and 10 drops lemon per wool ball. I placed them in a large glass jar and let them marinate for a few hours. I’m on my fifth load and my laundry still smells amazing. I haven’t even removed the wool balls from the dryer. I just let all six of them hang out waiting for the next load of wet laundry.

My other concern was whether or not my darks would be covered in wool lint; a couple of reviews had me worried. I just dried my first load of darks and I’m thrilled to say there is no wool lint on any of my very-emo-daughter’s clothing. I never would have heard the end of that. I think washing the wool balls first prevented them from shedding lint.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with these. They truly do cut down on drying time and I’m not having any static cling issues. If you do have static cling you could attach a safety pin to one of the wool balls or throw in a waded up ball of foil. Just don’t over dry your laundry and the static should ease up. I’m anxious to try another blend. Don’t you just love fresh scented laundry? Breathe it in… *eyes roll back and lids flutter* …aahhhhh

Best wishes to anyone who does their family’s laundry! You’re a Superwoman! Or a Superman! Or a Superperson!

    (Update)
It has been two weeks and I’m still happy with my sheep wool balls. I’ve added a couple photos so you can see how they’re holding up. The wool balls are discolored from essential oils, but I expected that.

Additionally, in my sincerest attempt to sound humble… what’s with the tennis balls?
I thought the main idea of wool balls was to cut down drying time and ditch the dryer sheets containing chemicals. Tennis balls are made from rubber and a thin layer of wool (sometimes nylon). That doesn’t seem like enough wool to aid in drying. Besides, I wouldn’t want hot rubber in my dryer with my laundry. Maybe I’m wrong; perhaps I’m missing something? I’d much rather shell out a few more bucks for 100% wool (solely wool). I just may eat ALL my words before long. It looks like some folks wool balls are unraveling? Drat.

    (Update #2 – I know, I’m a nerd)
It’s been nearly six months and they’re still going strong! Occasionally, I toss them in the washing machine to keep our darks lint free. They’re keeping their shape and doing their job.
