I bought this item three times. First time, amazing. When added to water, the slippery elm became viscous, which is exactly what you want. The second time… awful. Added to water, it was like sand… which serves no purpose… so I tried again. The third time I received an equally bad product. It’s a shame to waste nearly 30 dollars on something that doesn’t work… twice! I had left feedback the first time there was a problem and there was no response. Do yourself a favor and use a different company.

I have only been using this slippery elm powder for about a week. I think the flavor of the slippery elm bark is fine. Sort of earthy flavor. Not distasteful at all. Mixes easily with warm water with a small wisk. I am using for stomach inflation and it really help for me. I am taking this slippery elm bark about an hour before bedtime as suggested to coat my stomach. It is a nice warm drink that I have no trouble wanting to take. Overall, this is a great choice if you want some Slippery Elm Bark powder. It’s a good thing to have on hand. Recommended this slippery elm powder!!

Truly disappointing! I’m guessing from the positive reviews that quality control is all over the place for this product, since the bag I received did not contain inner bark as labelled. The powder I received did not gel, instead producing a bunch of sediment in cloudy water. Even after boiling and simmering for 30 minutes there was no thickening, just wet sawdust. Also the product claims it’s “Organic*” but there is no certified organic label and no explanation of the asterix. I’d stay away from this product unless they improve their consistency as there is no return policy.

The instructions say to add the slippery elm bark to a smoothie. I use a heaping table spoon in a big cup of water and bring it to a boil. That releases the gel, which is what helps. I may add few cups of fruit juice and sweetener to it to make the slippery elm bark more palatable and thin it out a little. And sometimes I add it to my tea. A high-quality slippery elm powder！
