I am always too busy in the morning to make breakfast before heading out the door. I either end up skipping breakfast or picking up something unhealthy and quick on most days. I was wanting to try these creamy milk chocolate shakes as a breakfast supplement. I was really hoping that they would keep me full until my lunch break.
These shakes are very tasty. They taste like regular milkshakes. I could definitely drink these every morning based off of taste. Unfortunately, these shakes did not keep me full. Within about an hour and a half of drinking a shake for breakfast my stomach was growling uncontrollably. I felt even hungrier than I do on the days I skip breakfast. Since I was already at work at this point I was forced to eat snack food until I could take an early lunch and get real food. When I did finally get my lunch I was starving and ate more than normally. Not only did this shake not work for me, I am pretty sure it made me even more hungry. It definitely made me eat worse for lunch.
These shakes are also ridiculously high in sugar. I normally try to avoid sugary foods. I am borderline diabetic and my Doctor doesn’t want me drinking or eating anything greater than 3-5 grams of sugar. These have 18 grams of sugar per bottle! That is a ton of sugar. I am surprised that something that markets itself as healthy or “diet” contains this much sugar. It is certainly not healthy.
I don’t recommend these shakes at all. I only give it 2 stars due to the yummy taste. However, if you want a milkshake there are cheaper ways of getting them. As far as keeping you full and/or making you loose weight, this shake is not what you are looking for.

I’m pretty picky about diet food, but I dig these! They’re only 190 calories and really pretty good. If you like milk chocolate, you’ll like these. And they keep you full for quite a while. At first I’d still need a mid morning snack, but soon I didn’t even notice I was hungry until lunch. I’d buy them again if the price didn’t fluctuate so much here on amazon. You can get them in the store for around $5 a four pack. I wouldn’t pay more than that on here.

Currently my teenage son is the big consumer of Slim Fast in our house. He has been drinking these before school for the last couple of years. They are quick and easy and they actually have a good amount of nutrition. I used to drink these for years while in college and before I got pregnant. The only issue that I have about them now is the amount of sugar, which doesn’t bother me for my son (since it’s not significant enough to cause issue for him) but for a 40-something year old, the carb control drinks are better for me.

Using the subscription service makes this the second best price I have found anywhere (first is Walmart). Well worth a few extra pennies for the convenience!

I drink SlimFast occasionally as a meal supplement on-the-go, not so much to lose weight, and I always enjoy them. They have a good taste, in my opinion, and I feel like I’ve eaten something substantial even though the whole bottle could be drunk in just a few seconds. As most readers will know from the product descriptions, they contain a pretty wide array of vitamins and nutrients while keeping the carbs low. Just what’s needed for a meal supplement or diet plan. My only real complaint is the cost. As others have noted, SlimFast is quite expensive and seems to be going up in price. No doubt they have benefited from the current trend of drinking lots of protein and other vitamin shakes. But the old master of the market ought to remember that it can only keep its place in the sun if it continues to sell at a reasonable price. Otherwise, I would recommend this product.

I had hoped that maybe some things would change with this. Apparently, it’s in a bottle now vs a can but the affects are still the same. It does curb your appetite but when it is time to each, your STARVING! WTH Slimfast!

If you are one who thinks a shakes is a transcendent event please do not order this, if your one who is attempting to lose weight and is willing to say the only relationship this has to a shake is it has to be shaken then order this. It has helped me with my weight management..

I drink whey protein shakes sometimes instead of a meal, so I’m used to this sort of thing.
I found this to be much tastier than a whey protein shake. It’s still a bit gritty, but it’s easy to drink. This could be a problem if you aren’t conscious that this is a meal replacement (and instead just use this as a beverage). The nutrition label shows this does offer a wide variety of nutrition.
Because it doesn’t require refrigeration, this is convenient for storing at work (though I think it’s almost mandatory that these be chilled before consuming). I was able to use this to replace a lunch and didn’t need to eat for several hours.
The bottle itself is easy to open and to hold.
All in all, it’s actually the best flavor of Slim Fast I’ve had, and it’s a good value.
