Great price without pedaling on unsafe roadways to a store to purchase. “Click” and your mix comes to your door with an expiration date later than what may be available at your local Bike Shop. The lemon-lime flavor mixes nearly clear so your colored coordinated bike kit won’t clash with some odd color inside your water bottles. Drinking water mixed with Scratch Labs always makes me happy— ‘cause I’m on a Bike Ride staying hydrated with good stuff. Try my method of dumping the granular mix over a few ice cubes inside your favorite water bottles and cover with water. Place inside the fridge and top-off with more water and ice before riding.

Really amazing stuff, no fillers, just the right amount of electrolytes, and best of all, tastes amazing!! thats what you get with real dehydrated juice and real sugar, rather than artificial flavours sweeteners or the evil stevia (yuk). No weird extra long lasting aftertaste.
I’ve used a lot of these products, tried pretty much all of them, and this is brand is easily the best of them all. its delicious, but not too strong or sweet. perfect for endurance sports when your palette and stomach can be extra sensitive to strong flavours and such.
I won’t buy anything else.

I am on at least my third bag of this mix. A friend suggested it a few years ago, for training. I use it in one of my bike bottles, and have a second bottle of plain water. This gives a good amount of energy and calories to keep me from getting too hungry on a long ride. It doesn’t make me jittery or mess with my stomach at all. I feel like it’s really balanced. Because I read a review in the beginning about it getting hard when exposed to water, I have been meticulous about keeping my scoop dry, squeezing the air out of the bag when I reseal it, and storing the bag within another ziploc style bag to protect it from moisture. I’ve never had a problem with it hardening on me. I’m starting to branch out and try other flavors of this, but this one is the one I can rely on to buy in bulk and have it taste and work great.

One bag contains 20 servings, which is what it says in on the nutritional information. But the listing claims there are 40 servings.

Update 8/20/2016: I think that Skratch has reformulated this product, because it dissolves much easier than before, pretty much negating most of my comments. It is still pretty pricey (especially in single-serving pouches) and can still get cakey (tip: store it in a very dry environment like the fridge), though. I would definitely give it a try though. Also, I recommend purchasing it direct from the company. The shipping is very fast and when mine arrived it had a hand-written note, stickers, and free samples of new products!

I’ve been using this mix for about two years and really like it. I find it especially good for bike rides of over 40 miles when I’m the most susceptible to cramping. Allen Lim designed this mix to be easy on the stomach and combat cramping, so in that respect it’s certainly been effective. One of the key ingredients in reducing cramping, though, is calcium. This means that the mix doesn’t dissolve as easily as others because the calcium dissolves more slowly. After pouring in the water, you will most likely see suspended calcium particles. If you use cold water, these particles will survive long into your ride. By the time you get down to the bottom of the bottle, the mix starts to taste rather gritty.
I’ve tried to figure out a way to eliminate this gritty texture. The most successful strategy has been to mix the powder with a little bit of lukewarm water and then let it sit overnight. The day of your ride/run/exercise, you can add cold water and/or ice cubes. I only buy the mix in individual packets because it’s very susceptible to moisture and will, as other reviewers have mentioned, turn solid. In my experience, even keeping it in an airtight container isn’t enough.
I’ve tried the lemon/lime flavor, which is nice and light. This isn’t a mix that will taste sugary, although it does tend to leave your mouth feeling a little puckered after a couple hours of drinking it. The flavors are also natural, so you won’t get that artificial flavor you might be used to with other sports drinks. This can take a little getting used to. For instance, the orange flavor tastes a little like tomatoes to me. Not that I’m complaining! This is good stuff.

I need to rehydrate as I cycle, and Skratch provides just th eright amount of sitrus taste without an after taste and caffeine.

I’m a big fan of these Skratch lab drinks. Well priced and not too many yucky ingredients. Very useful on long rides in hot weather.

Tiene un sabor ligero, nada empalagoso y te re hidrata mucho mejor que un suero o alguna bebida isotónica de las mas comerciales.
Utilizo el producto para ciclismo, en salidas de 150km de recorrido promedio y ayuda bastante.

Great product! I used Heed last year for three 50K races and didn’t really like it. It has a sickly sweet taste and that usually made me nauseous toward the end of long runs, not to mention the fact that it doesn’t have much sodium & potassium which requires you to also take Endurolytes (also made by Hammer – go figure). After signing up for a 50 miler this year, I knew I had to find an alternative. I switched to Tailwind based on a recommendation from a friend and really liked it, except for the taste. No nausea, no cramps (good balance of electrolytes), and no need to eat too much (good fuel source). That taste is just off; it’s hard to explain, maybe like water that was put into an unwashed gatorade bottle. In comes Skratch. I switched because it’s what North Face uses for the ECS. It’s everything that Tailwind is but with a much better taste. The Lemon/Lime actually tastes like citrus. I was a bit nervous first using it on a 25 mile run but had no issues at all. I mixed it at recommended strength and didn’t notice the calorie difference from Tailwind. This will be my go-to drink for running and cycling now. Freeze your second/third/etc. bottle and it will taste even better.

When getting into longer runs in FL you really need something regardless of how much your “longer runs” really are and when they are. I’ve had good success with Nuun but wanted to supplement/speed up my hydration with sugar intake and not rely 100% of gummies/gels/goos. Granted, Nuun has their Endurance version which is pretty much equivalent to this Skratch one. So there’s a chance I try that in the future just for due diligence. But, so far, this one is pretty good. The taste is light and seems to be stomach neutral. So if you have trouble downing hydration and fuel on a long run (or ride) this is a good starting point to lull yourself into the habit. As with anything, I guess the downside is the unit price per ounce. It’s not cheap, but it’s good. So choose your poison wisely.
