As with any supplement its not easy to review. Going by the ingredients and product history these look pretty good. I’ve had no issues so far and most importantly it does taste light I just a bunch of fish. No aftertaste or fish burps.

I can’t honestly say what effect this will have but the ingredients are promising and can’t hurt anything so I’m going to give it a try. Any benefit will take quite some time to appreciate.

I am always searching for a good source of Omega-3 complex and Astaxanthin, which are key to a good heart and vision health. Salmon oil fits this bill very well. I have been consuming this wild Alaskan salmon oil for the last month and a half. On the positive side I have the aforementioned benefits plus it does not leave any aftertaste or burps. Unfortunately, there is no evidence of any independent lab testing for content and quality, including the absence of heavy metals.

These supplements are ENORMOUS, yet somehow they’re easy for me to swallow. They also don’t have a fishy taste at all (yuck) nor do you have any aftertaste later on when they’re digesting. That right there is a huge plus for me. I’ve been taking two of them daily for 3 days now, and have had zero effects that sometimes pop up with supplements — no upset tummy, no constipation/diarrhea, no allergies, absolutely nothing. I’m very happy about that.
The price of these supplements is also enormous, at close to $40 for a one-month supply when I ordered them. It’s way beyond my budget to get these every month in addition to the vitamins and few other supplements I already take. If you don’t mind the expense, I would recommend them for their health benefits and for the quality without issues as I described above.
Keep an eye out for discounts or coupons if you’re interested in buying these but squeamish about the cost. If our budget could fit them in (or if insurance covered it! lol), these would be a great daily addition to my jumbo pill box. Until then, I’ll finish out the rest of this month and report back here if any issues crop up with them.

Big Bold Health Skin and Eye Health contains a naturally occurring spectrum of Omega-3 fatty acids, all of which are considered important to achieving healthy skin and eyes. The product contains bioactive pro-resolving mediators, thought to regulate inflammatory processes, modulate infection, and assist with the repair of injured tissue at the cellular level. The Alaskan salmon oil in the soft gels is wild-caught and flash -frozen to preserve its quality and integrity. Also present is Lutein, a carotenoid that occurs naturally in nature in green leafy vegetables and avocados and is thought to be important for eye and skin health. Additionally, the supplement provides us with Astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant also found in nature and sourced from algae. Astaxanthin helps with contributing to cellular integrity and normal signaling to help to make the walls of the skin cells more resistant to oxidative stress. My ophthalmologist approves of my supplementing my diet with healthful ingredients like the ones provided by Big Bold Health, so I do recommend the same to others as long as everyone first consults with their healthcare provider just to be sure. The serving size is two soft gels taken once per day preferably with food. They are easy to swallow.

The ingredients seem good enough, and I am a firm believer in taking fish oil as a supplement. However, the quantity is 2 capsules a day, so this is about a 30 day supply, for around $35 at the time I am typing this. That’s very expensive, and there are some better options out there. Also, this doesn’t say non-gmo, and it isn’t 3rd party lab tested. It’s also a fairly low dose, for the price. SO, while I think the product is decent, and I can also say that I suffered no ill effects…and they didn’t taste bad, like some fish oil capsules do…I still can’t give them a 5 star rating, for the reasons mentioned above. I don’t think I could justify buying them at that price, when there are so many other less expensive options out there.

I like this omega 3 formula as it combines a safe fish oil with lutein and astaxanthin. Salmon is one of the low mercury fish making salmon oil a fairly good choice for omega 3 supplementation. The eye friendly nutrient inclusion is a bonus. The capsules do not have any harmful fillers or bad ingredients. They are somewhat large but still fairly easy to swallow one at a time. The daily suggested dose is two capsules. My only reservation, and it is a minor one, is that I don’t know potentially how much PCBs might find their way into a salmon fish oil product. I am assuming that concern is probably not an issue especially given that this oil is sourced from wild caught fish. Krill oil might be an alternative, but all in all, I feel salmon oil is a good omega 3 source. I experienced no fish after taste or burping with this product.

For all the benefits of fish oil, this is a good product made of higher end ingredients. My husband takes it every day and does not complain.
