This is our family, favorite hand and body lotion. We live in a very dry climate, and most lotions either feel greasy or make our skin feel even more dry after using it. This is our favorite because it truly moisturizes your skin, Absorbs easily and makes our skin feel hydrated and comfortable. We highly recommend this product!

This product works really well. Use it on my legs during the dry winter months.

I am sensitive to fragrances and chemicals in a lot of cosmetics, and a very dry skin. This is the only lotion that I can use, and it is extremely good. The cosmetic qualities are exceptional, the slip, the gentle fragrance, the softening response with the skin which leads to healing. my only complaint is that unlike other products from this company, I cannot buy it in bulk and save myself having to waste more plastic in the environment. Please allow us to buy it in bulk.

Update 9/20/19: It appears the issue with the valve has been fixed since I wrote the review (for orders since), so am changing my rating to a 4.
***********
I really wanted to give this product a 5 star rating, and would have a couple months ago.
I’ve been using it for several years, and it is almost magical. It really does work, and it works much better than prescription skin lotions that I’ve tried.
I have a spot on my leg that used to always itch and be dry, and this is the only lotion that would work–much better than Eucerin, a lotion that my doctor prescribed for me. With regular applications of Borage Therapy, the problem of my dry spot has cleared up entirely. I’ll also treat my feet with it regularly, and they look baby-soft. It’s really a great overall lotion in many respects. I’ve even used it in unconventional ways by adding about a tablespoon to my shampoo, and it has cleared up dry scalp problems that I often faced in winter’s past without causing any side issues.
So, if reading this, it’s only fair that you ask why I gave it a 1. There are three main reasons:
1.) The consistency seems to vary, and is never quite right. Often, it seems to congeal somewhat in the valve, and small clumps come out. For a while, the consistency was thinned; and then it came out like a squirt gun, which was worse. Given the benefits of the lotion, however, I’m willing to overlook it.
2.) There is a slight odor, particularly while it’s still moist. The odor never really bothered me that much, but friends to whom I’ve recommended the product did find it annoying and decided not to use it as a result. When it’s dry, I don’t notice the smell; and, again, am willing to overlook that mild inconvenience.
3.) And this is the biggie: With the latest bottle that I ordered, the cap/push-valve/pump/dispenser was pushed down. In the past, I could just turn it, and it popped up. However, with the most recent one, the dispenser was stuck, and there was nothing that I could do about it. I tried twisting and turning and pushing down, etc., to no avail. I thought maybe there were some instructions for opening this new dispenser-type, for whatever changes were involved, but saw none. When I finally pulled up to see if that would work, the top part just snapped — not broken, mind you, but simply disconnected. And it would reconnect just fine. But there was no way to get the dispenser to release the lotion through normal pump action, and allow it to function normally. Fortunately, I had the previous bottle still, so I just unscrewed the cap and put the old dispenser on it. And now it works fine with that top. But if I was a first-time buyer, I’d be a little upset, and might have to unscrew the top and squeeze it out otherwise. I find it confusing how this change could pass quality control.
In any case, I will probably still continue to purchase this product again–at least, one more time–because it’s the only lotion that I’ve found that works for me.
I’ve also recommended it to a relative whose hands were often chafed from his work, and he loves it as well (as do some of his co-workers).
However, I can’t express how disappointed I am with the change in the dispenser, which I find extremely annoying. If my next purchase is satisfactory with the pump, I may change my rating.
However, if this problem with the dispenser persists with future purchases, I may have to start looking at other products available.

My son who has had a life long problem with eczema on his hands and I developed a problem with it about age 66. I had rosacea as a child and I have read that this can manifest itself as eczema in your old age, whatever the case, I have it to the point of pealing tender skin on my fingers that develops into bleeding cracks left unattended. My son said that ShiKai lotion completely cured his problem. Mine is much better, but I also use .05% clobetasol propionate cream by prescription around twice a day which I think is necessary for me. I will use “Desert Essence Organics” and other creams if they are more handy than the ShiKai lotion. I use my hands chopping wood, and working outside with gloves and they take a beating and small cracks will develop which with “liquid bandage” and then reapply ShiKai. I intermingle the other lotions since they are available locally to try to stretch the ShiKai. I ordered three containers of ShiKai to try and will re-order when they run low.
As an overall evaluation, I would have to say that my hands are much better and less tender now than before I started using Shikai lotion.
When I say “tender” I mean that it hurt to shake hands or even type, with perpetual thin and tender skin on my hands.
My fingers may never be completely healed and use of the ShiKai Lotion may be a life long process for folks like me. Hey, this is a minor affliction compared to what other people have to deal with. Thank you Shikai and I need to thank my son for steering me in the right direction.

It took a bit long to arrive – but that is expected when sending products to Finland. Otherwise, the product and service was great. I would order again.
Tender Foot –
One of the only products I have found that works well on my very dry skin. Highly recommend it. Arrived as stated.
