I’ve always loved these. So much better than Alka-seltzers tablets which have a more chalk-like residue. These taste great and you can even enjoy them right out of the packet. I like eating them a little at a time when I don’t have water. The taste is great.

I liked this option, because there is no aspirin. Instead of tablets, the packet holds a powder. You mix it with 4 oz. of water, just as you would with Alka Seltzer. It tastes similar and acts quickly, just like Alka Seltzer – except it is much cheaper.

Review of: Sal de Uvas PIcot, Effervescent Powder Solution, Antacid, 0.17 Oz Each Sachet
When I first decided to try this Antacid powder, I do think I was somewhat apprehensive about how the product would taste; since I know that I am more likely to use the product if I don’t think the taste is really horrible.
And, I’ve found that the taste of the powder, when mixed with a half cup of cold water, isn’t all that bad; at least not to my taste buds. I don’t think I would go so far as to mix up a dose of the powder just to have a cold citrus-flavored drink, but compared to other, similar products I’ve tried in the past, I can tolerate the taste of the Sal de Uvas Picot powder.
For me, the taste of the drink is very salty and has a deep, very sharp citrus flavor.
But, since there is no pain reliever in the product, I don’t sense that ‘medicine’ like taste that other products have. And, for me at least, this is a plus as I like to change around (or omit) any pain reliever when I take an antacid.
The package label does specify that a serving contain 712 mg of sodium, which I consider to be on the high side, but as one of the primary ingredients listed is sodium bicarbonate, I didn’t find this level to be a surprise. Still, it is a level that I want to keep in mind.
Overall, for effectiveness, I think this product works as well as other, tablet-type, antacids and I do like the option of, from time-to-time, being able to drink the antacid instead of chewing a hard, crunchy type of antacid.
So, I do think I will be able to get some good use out of the Picot antacids.
