During the ‘Pandemic of 2020,’ we’ve been washing hands relentlessly. Ordinarily, that would mean cracked, dry skin, but Fer a Cheval is gentle and moisturizing; obviously has plenty of olive oil in the mix. It’s also quite concentrated… just a few drops will yield up a lot of rich, creamy lather.
This liter bottle is the way to go; the half-liter pump bottle usually costs about as much and is easily refilled.
Recommended.

I first received a bottle of this soap as a gift and was kind of skeptical at first. The scent takes some getting used to (unscented = pure soap smell) and it lathers differently from most supermarket liquid soap. But that is its real strength–it produces a rich, thick lather, and because it’s so efficient you only need to use about half the amount you would with a supermarket soap, meaning the long-term cost isn’t that much more. As a footnote, if you order it during the cold months and it arrives looking opaque, don’t worry–after a couple hours at room temperature it will liquefy back to normal.

Savon Liquide De Marseille Olive Oil liquid soap works as a gentle hand cleanser as well as a hardworking dish soap. I love the soap and use it in the kitchen year-round. It also can be used as body wash.

Savon de Marseille (Pure Olive Oil soap) is my holy grail of soaps. After a trip to Marseille and purchasing Fer-a-Cheval’s Pure Olive Oil and Acqua Tangerine soaps, I no longer use other soaps. The Pure Olive Oil soap makes my facial skin feel soft, and I have not had blemishes since! I gave a friend who suffers from eczema one of my olive oil soap, and she raves about it too. According to an article I read, Savon de Marseille is very hydrating, has anti-aging beauty benefits, and is so gentle that the French use it for their babies; it’s chemical-free, has powerful antioxidants such as vitamins A and E, so it is a soap that is safe for head to toe!. I agree!
I’ve now purchased Fer-a-Cheval’s liquid hand soap (this review) and liquid dishwashing soap, and I am equally happy with them! I learned that only a master soap maker could make and display the Savon de Marseille mark, and there are only a handful of soap makers left that offer this authentic soap, one of them being the fabulous company Fer-a-Cheval, established in 1856.

On a site I visit with French ladies, there is much ado made about this particular brand of soap. I thought I might give it a try. Now I understand! Je comprends! I love washing my hands with this real and exceptional soap. A nice thick and oily pump coats your hands as you lather and massage. It then rinses off leaving a clean and silky finish. I am delighted! (The soap is also known for being a traditional (since 1854), all-natural, and plant-based (oils) product). The distributer was timely, the product well packaged, and the cost well worth the quality of the soap. It is on my repeat order list.

This is one of the best soaps I’ve used. Limited ingredients, no toxins, light fresh scent. This is what I’m using from now on.
