I was curious when I read this soap is for Body Odor Control so I placed my first order. It lathers really nicely, rinses clean, but the very odd smell of the soap is also left on your body. I don’t find it pleasant. I can’t tell if this does better body oder control than a good, much less expensive, deoderant soap. How will I know as no one has accused me of smelling unpleasant.

I am a dental hygienist, which can be a hot, sweaty, stressful job. I spend most of my day sitting extremely close to my patients, with my arms extended over their face. I do NOT ever want my patient to feel that I have any kind of body odor, and smelling like heavy fragrances is also a no-no. This soap is just the thing. It doesn’t have a strong fragrance like some Western “deodorant” soaps do, it’s not drying, and it lathers up well and I feel (when using it conjunction with my Salux or African net sponge) like I’m super clean and refreshed. When it lathers, there’s a light, soapy and slightly fruity fragrance to it, which makes washing with it a pleasant experience. But when you’re rinsed and toweled off, there really isn’t any kind of discernible scent other than “I’m clean”. The bar seems to last a long time even kept on a little shelf in my shower. I will definitely repurchase and continue to use this

Although this soap has no added fragrance, it still has a smell, mostly fruity, which is much too string for me.

Yes, I am old. Personal hygiene is still a priority. It gets lavishly sudsy and has a very nice fragrance. I noticed it rinses off well. Most important is how it neutralizes odor and leaves skin moisturized.

The soap was in a box no sort of wrapping. Wonder if the scent went away over time.
Some complained that the scent is too strong. Strangely, the bar I got has no scent. I am returning for a replacement. Will update later

I have gone through 3 bars of this soap since I placed my first order in Feb 2024. It is April 15th as of this writing. I was curious to try persimmon soap because I work out a lot and I am tired of the plastic waste that comes with using Lume body wash. I don’t typically smell because I also use Lume deodorant, but thought “Why not”. I shower once daily first thing in the morning after my workouts using a Korean washcloth. I only shower in the evenings before bed if I get a 2nd workout in, or it is hot and I’ve been sweaty.
My partner remarked on how I am “disturbingly scentless” as per her nose, I’ve lost all scent. I have noticed this as well. It was a little weird at first, but I like that whatever perfume I put on now seems “purer” in its scent. I have always used my own mixture of lotion + oils + aloe after every shower, and I do not look to soaps to “moisturize” my skin. That’s what lotion is for, in my opinion.
PROS: Performs as advertised although I am a 44-year-old woman who didn’t have a neoneal problem and was just curious. I am now scentless according to my wife. The glycerine bar lathers beautifully and smells wonderful to me. The scent does not linger on your skin. My skin feels very clean after toweling off.
CONS: Pricey for the size, and you must keep in an well-drained location or else the soap melts away quickly.
