Purchased this to fill in some spots around my temples. I started to sprinkle this in other places around my scalp, having always dreamt of long thick hair (my hair is fine and doesn’t grow past a certain length). This product is easy to use and doesn’t have any strange smells. I haven’t seen results yet, I have only used this for about 45 days, and results are expected to start showing up around 2 months. My cons are 1) it does affect the way my hair looks, i.e. if I put this on clean hair, it does make my hair less silky/makes it fee a little bit dirtier, which I don’t love and I am not sure how to avoid this yet (maybe I put on a bit too much?), and 2) the price.. not cheap. But, I know this is going to work, and I am working out a routine for using this without having to wash my hair more often. Happy overall. Bring on the long thick hair!

I am experiencing hair loss right about the left temple and across the hairline .
I bit the bullet – and bought the rogain.
I applied it per instructions, half a cap of foam rubbed into the sparse areas.
Initially I felt a slight warm and tingly feeling .
I was happy, thinking that it was the real deal!
About 15-20 minutes later, I felt weak and dizzy. I couldn’t even make it upstairs.
I was given several glasses of water, as having happened to me in the last, I knew my Blood Pressure was down.
I made it upstairs and drank some more. When I finally felt a little better, I took my own blood pressure with my cuff. It read 86/47.
I typed it into the web, and lo and behold, it is , along with other dire warnings , capable of causing low blood pressure.
I can’t use this product again.
Which is a shame.
I have high BP, and take a pill for it.
Perhaps someone else does too.
I’d recommend letting your doctor k ow if you choose to use this product .
I am devastated the product caused this medical issue- I think it may have worked.
Please be careful.

I was so anxious to try this, but I’m SO glad I did. I was losing hair at the crown of my head and feeling so self-conscious about it. Like so many reviews said, I tried various remedies and nothing worked. I finally decided it was worth it to try this and I can’t say enough good things about it. It took about two months of daily use for me to start seeing baby hairs on my head and it keeps filling it. I don’t find the foam bad at all. I put it on at night before bed and shower every day. I know I have to keep using it, but to me, it’s worth it.

Female here
I lost all my hair to chemo.
When my hair grew back, it grew in gray and thin, and only half of my eyebrows grew back in.
I read an article that suggested using Rogaine for thicker eyebrows.
I’ve been using this product for over a month now hoping to fill in my brows, not sure if it’s working.
My eyebrows are still thin and gray.

I started using Rogaine when I was in my 50s and I’m now in my 70’s, so I’m going on close to 20 years. I’ve been meaning to write this review for a long time because I wanted to address some possible misconceptions people may have.
#1. You have to use Rogaine every day for the rest of your life. While it is true you have to continue to use minoxidil if you want to keep your hair, you do not need to use it every day for the rest of your life. I’m pretty sure I used it every day for the first year and a half, but after that I noticed that even if I missed a day my hair didn’t fall out; then if I missed a couple days, 3 days, a week. So for most of the time I’ve been using Rogaine, I’ve only been using it about once every 10 days. Sometimes, I’ll go longer and I’ll start seeing more hair in the shower. When that happens, I’ll just use the Rogaine then go back to my every 10 days schedule.
I would not recommend that you purposely skip days until your hair regrowth is firmly established, but once it is, you can try experimenting.
Which brings me to “sort of” Misconception #2: If you go longer than two weeks without using Rogaine, your hair will fall out. Well, it will start to fall out, but it doesn’t all fall out on Day 15. And, as noted above, once you restart the Rogaine, the hair loss will stop. (I don’t know for how long of a period of abstention this will hold true.)
Misconception #3: you have to apply the foam directly to the areas of hair loss. I found this was a misconception because I was only applying the minoxidil to the right side of my head since that was where I had noticed the thinning. Well, lo and behold, I started losing hair on my left side as well. I never lost enough hair on the left to make it noticeable, but it did tell me that the minoxidil was affecting my entire scalp and, in fact, my hair became super thick on the left side of my head.
Which brings me to Misonception #4: Wait as long as you can to start the Rogaine. I did this and it was a big mistake. Before you start growing new hair with minoxidil, you will lose all the hairs that were going to fall out anyway. The further along you are on your hair loss path, the fewer healthy hairs you’re going to have on your head and the more you’re going to notice this initial hair loss caused by the minoxidil. I’d never thought I was a vain person before starting the Rogaine, but I probably cried every night for the first four months of use. I’m not proud of myself for doing so but it’s a fact that I did.
So, I hope all the above can alleviate some of the concerns people may have about starting Rogaine. My only regret is that I didn’t start it earlier.
There is also one tip I have: when applying the Rogaine, use a finger cot, The Rogaine never bothered my scalp, but my finger got sore either from getting a higher dose than any single point on my head or because of the friction of rubbing so many hairs.
