The bottle is about 1 quarter full of pills. The label on the bottle does say 150 pills however, the large size of the bottle makes the buyer believe that you are getting a lot more or the quantity displayed could be easily overlooked.

I started taking resveratrol about a year ago. It has many health benefits. This compound is in wine, and purveyors of wine claim that wine, which contains a powerful neurotoxin (alcohol) is somehow healthy because you get resveratrol from drinking it. I suppose you could add resveratrol to gasoline and make the same claim, because the “logic” is the same. There is a better way, and capsules are it.
One problem with many resveratrol supplements is they include other active ingredients. For example, since resveratrol is so good for gut health it’s often combined with berberine. This is a good combination if you are working on colon issues (especially if licorice root is also included). But it means your dosage is limited by the effects of the berberine and too much berberine will result in extremely loose stools that may be released at very inconvenient times for you (a correct dosage is no problem, however). Generally, you should avoid proprietarty blends and get straight resveratrol. This is especially true if you are taking it multiple times on hard training days to reduce oxidative damage.
Oddly, the Pristine’s brand has no trans resveratrol. They say that twice on the product detail page. Not previously knowing there was a difference, I looked into this. It turns out that trans reseveratrol is one of the two isomers of resveratrol. The other is cis resveratrol. Trans resveratrol has its hydroxide atoms on opposite sides of the molecule, where cis resveratrol has its hydroxide atoms on the same side of the molecule. They are the same chemical formula, C₁₄H₁₂O₃. I couldn’t find anything authoritative showing this makes any difference, though I had at first thought maybe it was like trans fats. I did find claims that only the trans version has health benefits and also claims of the health benefits of the cis version. So I went to the cdc.gov site, knowing that whatever they said would be the opposite of what’s true. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any disinformation on the two isomers of resveratrol.
So I can’t say anything conclusive on that issue. If you’re really curious, contact Pristine’s and ask them to send you some sort of proof for their position. They are in the USA (Garden Grove, CA), so contacting them should not be particularly challenging. It’s worth noting that one of the images on their product detail page is their certificate of purity issued by Micro Quality Labs (Burbank, CA). This is definitely a good thing, because in the world of unregulated supplements it’s been shown that many don’t even contain what they say on the bottle. These are gluten-free, lactose-free, and GMO-free (which also means no glyphosate, a powerful carcinogen and neurotoxin that is present in all Big Agra wheat, corn, soy, and meat).
Another issue with capsules is size. These pass the test there, very easy to swallow. I don’t like the fact that silicon dioxide is used in the binder, but it’s a plus that cellulose is used to form the capsule shell.

I expect that I will continue to take it on a long term basis, though results may be difficult to measure.
