Did you accidentally fill your aquarium with regular water softener salt, and later realize that Magnesium is very important in saltwater?

I have had a reef tank for about three years now and the SeaChem products is all I ever dose with. They dissolve easy and are a great price. They are also made right in Georgia so it is a Made in USA product which is great.

I am dosing my tank with Sechem Reef Advantage Magnesium. I was taken back by the amount needed to raise my Magnesium just a little bit. So for example, I am raising Magnum from 1200ppm to 1375ppm for my 120 gallon system requires nearly a kilogram. That Is basically the entire contents of this jar. I think next time, I will order an even larger sized jar.

This is by far my favorite magnesium supplement and one of the cheapest ones to use. Personally I don’t like using a liquid form of anything I’ve found it to contain a lot of other “harmful” things In it. I just mix this up with fresh RODI water and make my own liquid form.

It does exactly as it was made to do. If your dosing then I would recommend this. I’m not sure what happened but my last box of Reef crystals(orange) had no magnesium so I had to buy this.

I dose Reef Advantage Magnesium in my topoff water. It dissolves easily and there is never a precipitate. Once I tried Reef Advantage I have never used a liquid concentrate since. My Magnesium levels remain in a very narrow range around 1300 ppm. I use a lot of SeaChem products and trust this brand.
